San Diego, Calif. (KGTV) - Season 16 of the Bachelorette was unlike any other. The original Bachelorette, Clare, fell quickly in love with one of the men on the show and left engaged to him. I didn’t really get the opportunity to progress with Tayshia and it was just a surface level connection getting to know each other,” he said.Chasen had a few heated moments during his time on the show, including calling Tayshia a “smoke show” in front of the other guys in the house. Looking back, he says he would’ve picked a different word. He said one part of the journey he would not change, though, was his interactions with Ed, another guy in the house. Chasen and Ed had a few tense moments, but Chasen said he doesn’t regret how he reacted.“I wish Ed would have stopped and surrendered when I apologized but some people hold onto things. I think if that was different than things could’ve been different with my progression with Tayshia and our relationship,” said Chasen, saying he and Ed have reconciled since the show aired.Chasen said he’s happy to be back home in San Diego. He’s ready to focus on his career working as an account executive for Apex Systems, then get back into the dating world.“I’m onto bigger and better things right now, focus on myself, and I’ll be able to put myself out there eventually,” he said.He said since the show started airing, he’s received support from his community and strangers in the San Diego area.“So much support and love from everyone. I’ve been recognized in public and don’t be afraid to come up to me and say hi. I’d love to talk to anyone. SAN DIEGO (KGTV)-- Reports show some people are so desperate to get the new COVID-19 vaccine that they are offering boutique physicians thousands of dollars to jump the line — but doctors say that is not an option.Money can certainly get you perks: personalized care, treatment, even at-home COVID tests."Concierge clients definitely get privileges," Dr. Donna Ni said. "They really don't want to go to the doctor's office. They want to be seen at home. So a lot of the outpatient services are actually delivered at the patient's home."Dr. Ni owns San Diego Concierge Medicine, a boutique private practice offering medical and aesthetic services. With another surge in COVID-19 cases and the new vaccine roll-out, she says her clients are getting curious."They ask, 'How can I make sure I have plasma antibodies? How can I make sure I get Remdesivir? Do I qualify for Regeneron?'" Dr. Ni said.Some reports show the rich and famous in Los Angeles are getting antsy, asking their concierge doctors to administer the vaccine now. Some are even offering thousands of dollars in donations to jump the line. But Dr. Ni says that is not possible."It is only to the hospitals, to the front lines, and none of my members are going to be able to get that," Ni said. "Pfizer is highly controlled by the government right now, so we just tell the clients to wait a little."What they are doing now is preparing and connecting clients who fall in the second tier to hospitals with the vaccine."We want to make sure that our clients are one of the first in the second tiers," Ni said.While there are no jumping tiers or skipping the line, Dr. Ni says concierge clients do get perks, a doctor personally advocating on their behalf to get care quickly."We are not trying to get them to a different priority group," Ni said. "We just want to make sure that when that priority group hits, they are eligible for care."The only people who are eligible to receive the first wave of COVID-19 vaccines are hospital and emergency staff, as well as people at long-term care facilities. SAN DIEGO (KGTV)— Families and friends of crime victims shared stories of their loved ones at a healing circle.On October 11, 2015, Juan Carlos Munoz got the worst news of his life. "Three years ago, we got that phone call, that our son was murdered,” Munoz said. That single phone call changed the Munoz family forever. Their son, 18-year-old Juan Carlos Munoz Jr. was shot and killed while sitting in a parked car on Prospect Street in National City. “We didn't know what to do, we didn't know where to go get help, and we didn't know how to move on in life,” Munoz said. The shooter and driver got away. Lost in the confusion, heartbreak, and an endless cycle of ‘what-ifs’ the Munoz family found the group, Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice. “We don't want any parent to join this group, because that means they lost a loved one, but this group is needed for those victims have nowhere else to turn,” Munoz said. That is why he and his wife created the San Diego chapter. 'Loss' is the only criterion for membership into this exclusive group. But sadly it is growing. On the last day on national Crime Victims Right’s Week, the San Diego chapter welcomed all members. Instead of focusing on the loss, they shared stories of their loved ones to keep their memories alive. "He had a big heart, he loved people, he loved kids, feeding the homeless,” Munoz said about his son. “Junior” wanted to be a psychologist. But he never became one.Then last year, National City Police caught a break in the case. "November, we got that phone call that we've been waiting,” Munoz said. This was the other phone call that changed their lives. The two men responsible for killing Junior were arrested. "To hear that they were caught, it's a healing process,” Munoz said. He said it is a process that will never end. But talking about him reminds Munoz that Junior never really left his heart."He gives me that strength because when I feel very lonely and sad, I just feel that extra boost, like ‘You can do this dad!’“ Munoz said. 2032

San Diego (KGTV)- For weeks, the pandemic left nursing students at CSU San Marcos in limbo when it came to completing their graduation requirements. Now, thanks to the county, the students can get their clinical hours.When the pandemic hit in March, nursing students were forced out of public health facilities to get their hands-on experience for their classes.“We didn’t know when we were going to go back, and it was halfway through the spring semester,” says nursing student Winter Minton.Minton will be graduating from CSU San Marcos in the spring.The nursing student says for weeks, students were unsure about how they would obtain their clinical hours. A total of 135 hours are needed for two classes.“When we were ready to go back, the county was not willing, ready to have nursing students on site at all,” says Course Coordinator Madelyn Lewis.In August, the county opened a COVID-19 testing clinic on campus and allowed nursing students to work on-site. The students assist patients with self-administered COVID tests while wearing full protective gear.“Not only does it benefit us, but it benefits so many people,” says Minton. “I heard people driving all the way down from Irvine or Fullerton just to get the exam done.”Minton says the walk-in clinic sees more than 300 patients a day.The testing site is open to the public seven days a week. 1363
