SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - North and South Korea made history Friday by agreeing to officially end the peninsula's civil war. The move brings back chilling memories for Korean War vets in San Diego. 10News reporter Jennifer Delacruz sat down with one of those vets ahead of an Honor Flight to the Washington, D.C. next week. Bob Weishan's trophy room takes him back to a different time -- a time of conflict and destruction."It was interesting," said Weishan. "It's a whole different world that they live in."But when the 87-year-old Korean War veteran looks back today, it's a little different. "It should have happened a long time ago."The resolution of peace between North and South Korea puts even more meaning into the 15 months he was there fighting for freedom.   "You had two options," said Weishan. "One was stay in the trucks and burn to death, or climb out of the trucks and get shot."One of his most haunting memories was watching 100,000 refugees fleeing for their lives. "They were carrying everything they owned with them."Having been there in the trenches, he knows how much his agreement means to those families who left and those still there today. "For the North Koreans, I think they're on their knees every night with prayers that this is a success and that this doesn't fail because it gives them a way out."Although it's still early on, he says it's a step in the right direction. "It's a little bit of hope," said Weishan. "At least they're talking. And if something comes out of it, it could be good."Weishan joins about 25 other vets who leave for their Honor Flight on May 4th.  1670

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- One of the most anticipated panels of Comic-Con Day 2 was "The Walking Dead" Panel. Fans left Hall H with several surprises for the upcoming season. If you're a Comic-Con mega fan, patience is a vital part of the experience. Many slept on the grassy courtyard for hours, just to claim a seat inside the coveted Hall H. Fans say they can't get enough. "I've been a fan since the first season came out," Superfan, Marvin Calderon said. "I'm also a fan of the comic books."Calderon showed us his right arm. It is entirely covered with "The Walking Dead" themed tattoos, proving to us, his extreme loyalty to the show.Friday's panel featured the showrunner, Angela Kang, her executive producers, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Dave Alpert, and Greg Nicotero, as well as cast members Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Avi Nash, Cooper Andrews, Ryan Hurst, Nadia Hilker, Eleanor Matsuura, and Cailey Fleming. This was 12-year-old Cailey Fleming's first Comic-Con experience, and she stole the show. Fans were impressed by her ability to handle the crowd and mingle with the cast."She is awesome," Calderon said about her. "The sheer fact that she doesn't seem to be scared of anything that the show can throw at her."Perhaps the biggest surprise was from Danai Gurira, who plays "Michonne." Fighting back tears, she announced her departure from the show, after Season 10."This has been one of the purest joys of my life to play this role, and to be amongst these people," Gurira said. Fans teared up as they listened to her farewell speech. Gurira thanked her fans for their unconditional support. She said it was a decision she did not take lightly, and that she hoped to follow her other callings. "My heart breaks," fan Katherine Butler said. "But I wish her luck because I loved her in Marvel. So she's going to do well no matter where she goes."As for Calderon, he says his tattoo is forever. "Michonne" will always be with him, even after her departure. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating after a 19-year-old man was found dead inside a Logan Heights home late Saturday night. Police were called to the home on the 2800 block of Clay Avenue around 10:35 p.m.According to police, a resident came home and discovered the man, later identified as 19-year-old Joshua Noe Martinez, suffering trauma to his upper body. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — More people have tested positive at the San Diego Convention Center, which has been serving as a shelter for San Diego's homeless since April.Regular testing has been conducted at the Convention Center since the shelter opened, but there was a rise in positive cases starting with tests administered on Dec. 3. Since then, there have been 120 positive cases detected. According to city officials, 115 are clients and five are staff members.Prior to Dec. 3, the city says there had been 27 positive cases since April.Dr. Eric McDonald, medical director of the County Health and Human Services Agency's Epidemiology and Immunization Branch, released the following statement: 699

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police are searching for a reported bank robbery suspect in the Mission Valley area late Friday.A bank robbery was reported at the US Bank location at Frazee Road just before 5 p.m., according to San Diego Police. At one point, SWAT officers were called in to assist.SDPD initially reported that shots were fired inside the bank based on accounts from "scared employees" but later confirmed no shots had been fired. Police are currently searching for a suspect. No injuries have been immediately reported. The building was reportedly locked down as police searched.The suspected was described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, wearing a black mask or bandana, black hooded shirt, black pants, tan backpack armed with a handgun. 751
