SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A 10-year-old San Diego girl’s wish to explore Scottish castles is coming true, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Macy’s.Julia Davidson got the surprise announcement Wednesday while visiting the Macy’s UTC La Jolla.The trip is designed to celebrate a milestone in Davidson’s recovery. After battling cancer for four years, her family said she’s now in remission.The 10-year-old was invited to the Macy’s store to fill out a letter to Santa for the company’s annual Believe campaign. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Clairemont woman says she came home to a break-in and heartbreak.On Friday afternoon at the Balboa Arms condos, Terri Harrison's adult daughter discovered a ransacked home.The intruder likely ripped a window screen before reaching in and unlocking the window.Missing from a bedroom was her daughter's laptop. In the master bedroom, a lock box was emptied of personal documents and some six pieces of jewelry, including a set of pearls belonging to her mom.Both her mother and father passed away two year ago."You wear something that's hers, you feel like she's close to you again ... SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A day after deliberations began in the wrongful death civil case over a mysterious Coronado mansion death, a jury has reached a verdict.A jury Wednesday found Adam Shacknai responsible in the death of Rebecca Zahau at the Spreckles Mansion in 2011. Zahau's family will be awarded million in punitive damages.Jurors were asked two main questions: Did Adam Shacknai touch Rebecca Zahau (before she died) with the intent to harm her? Did that touching cause her death? Jurors determined "yes" in both instances.The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said Wednesday that they are standing by their findings that Zahau committed suicide. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A coalition of groups protesting how law enforcement officers use force says it plans to launch a recall effort against San Diego District Attorney Summer Stephan in 2019."You're going to see us all over this county," said Oletha Wade-Matthews. "We're not going anywhere until we see justice, or get you out of office."Around one dozen people gathered Downtown Tuesday to speak at a San Diego City Council meeting, then hold a press conference. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A 20-year-old woman died following a shooting that left three others injured at a party in La Jolla Sunday morning, according to San Diego Police. Police were called to the 7500 block of Draper Avenue near Jack in the Box around 12:39 p.m. after reports of shots fired. According to police, partygoers were standing outside a home in the area when a light-colored sedan drove into the alley and shot the victims. When officers arrived, they found a 20-year-old woman and 23-year-old man with gunshot wounds, according to police. Police say both victims were rushed to the hospital where the woman later died. The 23-year-old is in serious but stable condition, police say.Two other victims, both 19-years-old, later showed up at different hospitals with gunshot wounds and are in stable condition, police say. The suspects are still at large and police say they have no description at this time. The victims haven’t been identified.
