MOSCOW, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Senior Chinese and Russian officials on Thursday pledged to deepen bilateral coordination and cooperation at the ninth round of China-Russia strategic security consultations.
The provincial government has allotted 26 million yuan (about 4 million U.S. dollars) in drought relief funding to alleviate the drinking water shortage, according to the provincial government's information office.
"We support the United Nations and its Security Council to play a leading role in the international counterterrorism cooperation, and hope that the international community will continue to strengthen cooperation to prevent and combat terrorism," he added.
Health departments were also told to launch campaigns to check local medical equipment manufacturers for effective quality control systems, valid registration certificates for their products, adequate management of source materials and officially-approved labels and manuals.
The sides will make full use of a special fund of 50 million U.S. dollars set up by the Chinese government last year for bilateral agricultural cooperation, the statement added.
