BEIJING, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Senior Chinese lawmakers on Wednesday expressed concerns over the country's low energy efficiency and high emissions, as a recent report suggested that China is lagging behind its energy conservation and emission reduction targets.
The EU is willing to maintain communication and coordination with China on such issues as climate change and global governance, said Barroso.
"I also wish to seize this opportunity to reiterate my government's desire and commitment to further strengthen the traditional bonds of friendship and cooperation that exists between our two countries for the mutual benefit of our people," he said.
"China is highly concerned by the development of the situation in Thailand," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei at a regular press briefing.
"China was the very first country to provide ships for the search, and we've been very grateful for the help," he said.
