(AP) — The Mercury News reports that California’s largest utility company said its equipment might have caused a fatal wildfire last month in Northern California.Investigators for the state have seized some of Pacific Gas & Electric’s gear in connection with the blaze, known as the Zogg fire, the company told state regulators. The blaze broke out Sept. 27 near the Shasta County town of Igo. The Shasta County wildfire began in the vicinity of Zogg Mine Road and Jenny Bird Lane. (KGTV) - Customs and Border Protection officials tweeted thermal camera video Friday of men climbing the U.S.-Mexico border fence and damaging the concertina wire.The video was recorded by U.S. Border Patrol cameras placed near Border Field State Park in Imperial Beach, opposite from where migrants have been gathering as more members of the Central American caravan arrive in Tijuana.There was no word on whether the incident captured on video led to an arrest.The Department of Defense confirmed with 10News that military troops are at Ream Field in Imperial Beach to assist in Border enforcement. The Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force members here, consist of 400 Marines out of Camp Pendelton, as well as an Army Military Police Battalion. The Marines will be unarmed, focusing primarily on logistical support. Search and rescue operations are underway off the coast of Japan for a U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18 fighter jet and KC-130 refueling tanker involved in a mishap, according to ABC News. Five people were onboard the tanker while two were onboard the jet. One person has so far been rescued. Officials later announced on Twitter that the person rescued was being evaluated as the search for the six missing Marines continues. Saipov crashed the rented truck into a school bus, left the vehicle brandishing imitation firearms and was shot by police, officials said. SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGTV) — One man was killed in a shooting involving a Border Patrol officer Friday near the Las Americas Premium Outlets.Just before 6 p.m., a Border Patrol agent assigned to the San Diego Sector shot an unidentified 30-year-old man in the area of Dairy Mart Rd. and Camino De La Plaza, close to the international border, according to Aaron Heitke, Chief Patrol Agent with United States Border Patrol in San Diego.Heitke said the man was illegally trying to enter the U.S. west of the San Ysidro Port of Entry.During the arrest, an altercation between the man and agent began, during which the agent fired his service weapon, striking the man in the torso, according to Heitke. The details surrounding what led to the fight haven’t been released at this time.The agent received minor injuries, according to San Diego Police. That agent is not being identified at this time, police added.At about 6:25 p.m., first responders pronounced the man dead, Heitke added. The victim has been identified but his name was not released. He was described as an adult Mexican national.SDPD officers were also called to the scene. Border Patrol told ABC 10News that SDPD will be handling the investigation.After SDPD's Homicide Unit completes its investigation, the U.S. Attorney's Office will review the case.
