SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A legendary sports radio station is returning to Southern California airwaves with an updated name.The Mighty 1090 abruptly went off the air on April 10, 2019, due to an issue between the station’s parent company and the owners of the Mexico-based radio tower that distributes the station’s signal.But on Monday, Aug. 17, the station once known as the Mighty 1090 will be back on the 1090 AM radio dial as "The Mightier 1090.”Bill Hagen of Mightier 1090 said in a news release, “It’s taken a tireless amount of work from a number of great people to get us to this point. The Jefferson, a 3 million complex, is located just off I-5. According to its website, studio apartments range from ,478 to ,617. The largest apartments in the complex with three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms range from ,987 to ,103. Those prices are much higher than the typical apartment in Pacific Beach, according to Zillow. Zillow’s rental map shows prices in Pacific Beach ranging from ,425 for a studio to more than ,850 for a three bedroom. Between those two price points, Zillow shows 152 apartments available for rent. One rental manager who spoke with 10News says The Jefferson may have a difficult time finding tenants at those prices. “Tenants, prospective tenants, they're educated. They educate themselves and they do comparative shopping. So if it's too high, you're going to sit empty,” said Jim Vosacek, who runs Western Hills Real Estate Management. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A measure to implement ranked choice voting in the City of San Diego will be considered for the November ballot.The city's Rules Committee voted 3-2 on Wednesday to send the proposal to a full council vote, where councilmembers will decide if the measure is placed on the 2020 ballot this fall. The vote is expected to take place in July.Ranked choice voting would allow voters to list up to four candidates in order of preference, instead of casting one vote for a single candidate.RELATED: San Diego to consider major change to 'ranked choice' votingHere's how it would work:The top four candidates in each primary race would advance to the general election, instead of just the top two.In November, voters would then rank the candidates by preference.If one candidate has more than 50% of the vote on first count, that candidate would win. According to Apartment List, more than 65 percent of San Diego metro renters are location-first movers who chose to move to the area prior to searching for a job. The report also shows that only 32 percent of San Diego renters plan to settle down in the area long-term. Compared to the national average, fewer San Diegans plan to settle down in their current metro.
