SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- 92 Drinks + Eats, formerly known as 92nd Street Cafe, was known for karaoke, dancing, and flowing drinks on most nights. But now, things are different due to COVID-19, and owner Nicole Dinkel is working hard to keep her doors open while keeping customers happy."This industry has been affected very hard," said Dinkel. "We're out here just trying to do the best we can. We're a small business, I run this with my father day-to-day."Dinkel said she and her father, Ed, have been forced to shut down three times over the past few months.The first time was in March when Governor Doug Ducey issued a Stay-At-Home order for Arizona. The second time was after several of their employees tested positive for COVID-19, and a third time after trying to re-configure the usually busy bar to offer a safer dine-in experience."The signage on the door over here "mask up," it says 'avoid the humans keep, your six-foot distance,"' said Dinkel. "We want everyone to understand that it's not us making these rules, we just have to enforce them. It's the only way we can stay open."Dinkel employs a handful of families, including mother and son duos, as bartenders and servers."I have several families who depend on me here, not just my livelihood, but theirs," she added. "If you have customers coming in here not wanting to abide by the rules, it's not worth losing my business or getting in trouble for."Dinkel had to stand her ground last weekend when a group of women went in for dinner and drinks and caused a scene."They were dancing, I had to tell them 'ladies, I'm so sorry I can't have you standing within 6-feet with Ducey's new rules. Can you please take a seat?' They would say OK, and then again in a few minutes, they would still stand up," added Dinkel. "So at the end, I said ladies listen I need to either have you take a seat or need to have you exit with a mask. They just weren't listening."Surveillance video from 92 Drinks + Eats shows one of the four women stand up from the table, without a mask, and blow in Dinkel's face."In that moment, I was shocked," said Dinkel. "I told her to get out of my establishment immediately with all of her friends and I walked them over to the exit."Dinkel then started recording the group as some women started yelling. She says several of her employees joined her outside as the confrontation continued. Then says the same woman took things to another level."She actually reaches across my bartender and snatches my mask off of my face, throws it to the ground, scratches my face."Dinkel contacted Scottsdale police, who then contacted the group of women that night and issued no trespassing orders.On Friday, ABC15 confirmed the Scottsdale Police Department filed assault charges against one woman. No arrests have been made. Instead, the charges are being sent to prosecutors with a notice for the woman to appear in court."There's a global pandemic going on right now," said Dinkel. "For someone to be able to think that they can do that to another person is shocking... SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGTV) -- San Diego Police are investigating Monday night's shoot out at the border at the San Ysidro Port of Entry. Christopher Barajas said he was pulling up to the line to head into the U.S, but turned back. "Everyone started screaming before I even get to the line," said Barajas. It happened around 7:30 p.m. when police and Customs and Border Protection officers say the driver of a white pick up truck refused to stop at a secondary inspection area. Instead, the twenty-three-year-old allegedly accelerated and tried to drive straight through the port into the United States before being blocked by a vehicle. Police say the driver started firing shots from inside his truck and then got out and continued shooting at officers. Seven C-B-P officers returned fire, hitting the man at least once. Officers and San Diego Fire Rescue crews performed life saving measures, but the suspect died at the scene."If they didn't find any individuals in there, smuggling, he was probably hiding something in there," said Barajas.White plastic garbage bags could be seen sitting on the truck's tailgate, but police haven't released any information about what, if anything, was found. Tuesday, only the Sentri and Ready lanes remained open on the northbound side. Traffic heading into Mexico was not affected. School nurses already have a lot of responsibilities, but the possibility of students being back in classrooms this fall may add a new duty: screening for COVID-19."There seem to be no certainties. The guidance changes frequently and there is some concern that the guidance doesn’t take into account the realities in a school building," says Laurie Combe, the President of the National Association of School Nurses.Combe says the pressure will be on school nurses to help screen and isolate any students or staff who could be showing symptoms of COVID-19. But not all schools across the country have the ability to do this."We're supposed to isolate those students or staff members and does a school have the space or capacity to do that?" says Combe.According to the Department of Education, there are 98,000 public schools in the United States. The National Association of School Nurses’ research has shown 25% of those schools have no access to a school nurse."Not part-time, not one nurse covering multiple schools, just no school nurse," says Combe.“COVID has revealed to us is that schools are relying heavily on school nurse expertise to guide their procedures and policies moving forward into reopening,” Combe added. “So what do those schools that don’t have a school nurse do?"Visalia Unified School District in California has about 32,000 students. The district's 12 credentialed school nurses help lead an additional 36 nurses in meeting students' health needs."Our health department reached out and identified the 12 school nurses as emergency disaster workers so instead of enjoying a summer vacation, the nurses are working at the health department and helping to monitor COVID," says the district's Director of Health Services Suzie Skadan. Skadan says that extra experience will be helpful when school is back in session."They will have this additional experience and hands-on happening so they will know what to do when we come back," says Skadan.Visalia unified is working closely with their local health department to put every CDC-recommended protocol in place come the fall."It is an added burden for the school nurse but it's very necessary to keep our students safe. So we think planning ahead and having systems in place will make the best of this situation," says Skadan. Both the National Association of School Nurses and Visalia Unified say ideally there'd be more nurses on hand this fall."Unfortunately, we're having big budget cuts. It's been a bad budget year and then we have COVID on top of that so we are not hiring additional nursing staff. We schedule people around to make things work so hopefully we can manage it this way," says Skadan.While not every school will have the ability to test students for COVID this next school year, the National Association for School Nurses expects more students will be tested. Combe refers to a recent conversation she had with a teacher."I said, ‘So what are you going to do if a child in your classroom starts coughing?’ Normally you would send that child to get some water or you know help them manage that. She said, ‘I’m sending that child to the school nurse,'" says Combe.Combe says nurses focus much of their time on health education for students, faculty and their entire school community, a role that will be amplified come next school year. 3334

Sears Holdings will close another 63 Kmart and Sears stores following the 2017 holiday shopping season.On Thursday, the company made the announcement to employees at the affected stores, which span 26 states.The closings affect 45 Kmart stores and 18 Sears stores.
