SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man was arrested after police say he stabbed his friend, then returned to watching a UFC fight.The stabbing happened on the 3000 block of Midway Drive around 9:15 p.m. Saturday. Police say the two friends took a Lyft from downtown to the Midway District when they got into a fight.After leaving the car, the pair’s argument became even more heated before the suspect, Paul McNett, 43, wrapped his arm around the victim’s neck and stabbed him in the front of his neck.RELATED: Man shot during road rage incident in Del CerroAfter the stabbing, McNett stayed at the restaurant to watch the UFC fight.The 55-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man who recently returned from Iran is under self-quarantine at his parents' home in Rancho Bernardo. The traveler, who declined to give his name, lives in San Francisco. He said it would be easy to expose other family members at his home, but his parents have a detached unit where he can isolate himself. He said he contacted his healthcare provider for guidance before returning to the United States, but was directed to the CDC website. "The onus shouldn't be on me. There should be some kind of response, from the government or some kind of authority. I just feel they should be a lot more proactive. I feel it's going to hit us like a tsunami, " said the man. He was in Iran, where at least 200 people have died from COVID19, for the last few months taking care of his family business. He's been out of the country for eight days. He says he isn't showing any symptoms, but he still wants to be tested. "Per CDC guidelines, they said if you're not showing symptoms, you don't need, and the word was "need," you don't need a test, you should just self-quarantine until the 14 day period has passed. Need is one thing, I said I want to test, I said wouldn't you want to test, if you're a carrier you want to know." It's up to an individual's doctor or healthcare professional to recommend someone for testing, but the CDC has the final say. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man was arrested after deputies say he intentionally drove onto a sidewalk outside an Encinitas bar, seriously injuring several people. According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened on the 500 block of South Coast Highway 101 around 1:20 a.m. Deputies say the man, later identified as Christian Davis, 28, was asked to leave The Saloon Bar because he was too intoxicated. RELATED: Man dies following attack in Vista; suspects at-largeAfter leaving the bar, deputies say Davis got into his rental U-Haul van and intentionally drove it onto the sidewalk, hitting three people. One of the victims was taken to Palomar Medical Center while two others were taken to Scripps La Jolla Hospital all with serious injuries. Davis was detained by witnesses at the bar before being taken into custody by deputies. Two of the witnesses were injured while detaining Davis and were taken to Scripps Encinitas hospital with minor injuries. The suspect is facing four felony charges including three of attempted first-degree murder and one of attempted escape with force. Davis is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A San Diego International Airport spokesperson said Wednesday a reported paging that went viral was made by mistake.Video on Twitter claimed to show San Diego Airport's messaging system announce a page for "Epstein Coverup" on a digital display. The text read: "Airport is paging Epstein Coverup please meet your party at terminal two east by American Airlines."An airport spokesperson told 10News that the message was a mistake, and steps were "being taken to avoid such mistakes in the future."RELATED: Travel website ranks San Diego International as best airport in the US"San Diego International Airport’s paging system is a vital communications resource for airport users in a sometimes busy, hectic environment. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A new apartment complex in Pacific Beach is gearing up for its opening, but residents can expect to pay top dollar for all the bells and whistles offered by the complex. The Jefferson, a 3 million complex, is located just off I-5. According to its website, studio apartments range from ,478 to ,617. The largest apartments in the complex with three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms range from ,987 to ,103. Those prices are much higher than the typical apartment in Pacific Beach, according to Zillow. Zillow’s rental map shows prices in Pacific Beach ranging from ,425 for a studio to more than ,850 for a three bedroom. Between those two price points, Zillow shows 152 apartments available for rent. One rental manager who spoke with 10News says The Jefferson may have a difficult time finding tenants at those prices. “Tenants, prospective tenants, they're educated. They educate themselves and they do comparative shopping. So if it's too high, you're going to sit empty,” said Jim Vosacek, who runs Western Hills Real Estate Management. JPI released a statement to 10News:“Jefferson Pacific Beach is the first multifamily development of its kind in Pacific Beach. While there are currently no other new, luxury developments like this in the area, this development will offer residents a quality, high-end lifestyle that has not previously been available.
