"Essential care for patients at these sites, and indeed all Sharp Rees-Stealy patients, will continue through video and phone visits or for patients who must be seen in person, at other Sharp Rees-Stealy clinics," the spokesperson said. The sites will re-open once the outbreak is over. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Several North County residents felt their homes and businesses rattle briefly after a loud boom Friday.The noise and shaking were reported at about 1:30 p.m., according to San Diego Sheriff's Department. Deputies in the North County received calls from Vista about the noise. 10News also fielded several calls from Oceanside and San Marcos over the incident.USGS did not register any major earthquakes in the region Friday, according to the agency's website. At about 1:31 p.m., USGS recorded a 1.6-magnitude earthquake with a depth of about 5 miles in the Ocotillo Wells area, about 100 miles east of Oceanside.Camp Pendleton was scheduled to perform exercises involving mortar fire and high explosive munitions, according to a noise advisory statement, and finish its Exercise Iron Fist training alongside Japanese armed forces on base Friday. However, a spokesperson for Camp Pendleton told 10News the base was on normal operations Friday.The base's website advises that, "depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away." SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Scripps Health revealed Tuesday plans for major new construction projects and buildings at its hospitals in San Diego County.The master plan includes flexible design spaces for evolving technology in patient rooms, operating rooms, laboratories and diagnostic centers, Scripps officials said.More care will be delivered on an outpatient basis at clinics and other facilities so Scripps can use acute care hospitals to care for the most seriously ill patients, said the company."This is our vision to build the health care system of the future - starting today," said Scripps president and CEO Chris van Gorder. "Our focus is on delivering the right care in the right setting that reflects the changing health care needs of the communities we serve across the San Diego region."The projects will be financed by operating revenues, borrowing and philanthropy, Scripps said.Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla:Construction includes a new seven-story, 401,000 square-foot hospital tower. It will feature a woman's health center, nursery, and neonatal ICU. The building should be finished in 2024.Scripps Mercy Chula Vista, Scripps Green Hospitals:The facilities will undergo seismic retrofitting. The work will start in 2022 in Chula Vista and 2027 at Scripps Green.Scripps Mercy San Diego:The campus will be the largest project for the health care system. The existing acute care building will be replaced with a new 710,000 square-foot 15-story tower. Most of the rooms will be private. The central energy plant will also be upgraded. Construction will start in 2022 and end in 2027.Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas:Plans include a new 185,000 square-foot three-story acute care building, a new medical office building, seismic retrofitting and energy plant upgrades. The work will be finished in 2024.Other projects:Construction includes two new Scripps MD Anderson outpatient cancer centers at Scripps Mercy San Diego and Scripps Radiation Therapy Center in La Jolla. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Several major streets around San Diego are closed to cars to make way for more bicycles Sunday. The San Diego Bike Coalition hopes the event, called CicloSDias, will encourage people to ride their bikes instead of using their vehicles. Streets like Adams Avenue in Normal Heights and El Cajon Boulevard in City Heights will be closed. The event starts at 10 a.m. and lasts until 5 p.m. The event will also host a free concert with food and activities on El Cajon Boulevard between Fairmont and 44th Street.
