SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California Gov. Gavin Newsom is expected to quarantine for 10 days after one of his staffers tested positive for COVID-19. A spokesperson for the governor's office stated the staffer tested positive Sunday afternoon. Newsom was tested after those results and his test came back negative. The statement says the governor's 10-day quarantine is out of “an abundance of caution.” Another person in the governor's office tested positive in October, and the governor tested negative back then. Last month, members of Newsom's family were exposed to someone who tested positive for the virus. Newsom, his wife and four children tested negative at that time. 685

(KGTV) -- One of the California Highway Patrol officers wounded during a shootout in Riverside Monday evening died and two others remain hospitalized Tuesday, according to the CHP.According to Riverside authorities, the shooting happened around 5:35 p.m. on the 215 Freeway near Box Springs Boulevard and Eastridge Avenue. RIVER ROUGE, Michigan —The mother of a 3-year-old boy who was shot in a drive-by in River Rouge, Michigan on Sunday said her home was set on fire early Monday morning.Police say 3-year-old Jamar Lee Quinn Jr. was shot around 2:45 a.m. local time on Sunday when a bullet came from behind the house where he resides.Jamar was hit in the head while sleeping and was taken to the hospital. He's listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit. Danielle said he is unresponsive and on a ventilator.This is not the first time the home has been hit by bullets. The front window was shattered by bullets earlier this month in another drive-by shooting. The incident is under investigation, and few details have been released. 768
