Kelly is only expected to weigh in on the temporary status of Acosta's press pass.Further hearings are likely to take place in the next few weeks, according to CNN's lawyers.The lawsuit alleges violations of the First and Fifth Amendments.Kelly, a Trump appointee, has been on the federal bench just more than a year now. He was very inquisitive at Wednesday's hearing, asking tough questions of both sides, drilling particularly deep into some of CNN's arguments.A Justice Department lawyer, James Burnham, argued that the Trump White House has the legal right to kick out any reporter at any time for any reason.Burnham, who's been tasked with defending President Trump and several White House aides from CNN and Jim Acosta's lawsuit, was responding to a hypothetical from Kelly. (KGTV) — La Mesa city officials have launched an investigation after video surfaced of an incident at a local trolley station on Wednesday.The incident occurred at the Grossmont Trolley Station on Fletcher Parkway, according to the city and the video online. The video appears to "indicate that a LMPD officer detained an African American male, and in the process, the LMPD officer administered physical contact," the city wrote in a press release.The video shows an altercation between a man and an officer escalate at the trolley station. Eventually, the man is handcuffed by officers and told he is being charged with assaulting an officer.The city says it has started a special investigation into the incident and that the officer involved has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation."The Special Investigator has already been selected, and his appointment is pending the execution of a special services agreement which will be released for public review when available," the city says.A statement from La Mesa Mayor Mark Arapostathis added, "The City takes these matters very seriously, and consequently, in conjunction with the City Manager’s and City Attorney’s offices, has already begun the appropriate steps forward to investigate this matter thoroughly and take all necessary actions."LMPD issued a statement, saying they are "aware of a video circulating on social media depicting an interaction between a police officer and a citizen at the Grossmont Trolley Station yesterday. LANCASTER, Calif. – A man has been arrested for the murders of his 12-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter in Lancaster, California, which is north of Los Angeles.The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement that fire personnel located the victims when they were called to the family's home to investigate a possible gas leak Friday morning.Detectives say the children both appeared to have suffered from lacerations and stab wounds.The mayor of Lancaster, Rex Parris, confirmed to KABC and the L.A. Times that the children were both found decapitated. He told the newspaper that “it was pretty brutal.”Officials tell the L.A. Times that the victims were found in separate bedrooms in the home and it’s unclear how long they had been dead.At the home, the sheriff’s department says there were also two adults and two other children who were questioned by homicide investigators. The L.A. Times identified the two adults as the victims’ parents.The children's father, Maurice Taylor Sr., was later arrested on murder charges and booked into jail, where he’s being held with a million bail.The L.A.
