Jennifer Lawrence and Meryl Streep are not happy about Harvey Weinstein quoting them in an attempt to get a sexual misconduct lawsuit against him dismissed.On Tuesday, lawyers for the embattled former Hollywood mogul filed a motion in a New York federal court to dismiss a racketeering suit brought against Weinstein in December by six women.The group alleges sexual harassment and abuse by the producer, his former company Miramax and its former board members for what they say was organized criminal behavior over a period of years designed to cover up Weinstein's alleged actions.Weinstein has been accused by dozens of women of numerous incidents of alleged sexual misconduct over a period of three decades.Through his spokesperson, the media mogul has consistently denied any instances of "non-consensual" sexual activity.At the time the women's suit was filed, Miramax told CNN its current iteration has been independent of the Weinsteins for more than 10 years."Miramax joins the entire film community in condemning Harvey Weinstein and his unspeakable actions," a spokesperson said. "Miramax has been completely independent of Harvey - since he and Bob Weinstein left The Walt Disney Company to found The Weinstein Company. Twelve years and two ownership changes later, Miramax is a very different company. We at Miramax are proud of that difference."Harvey Weinstein's brother Bob Weinstein, along with current and former Weinstein Company board members Dirk Ziff, Tim Sarnoff, Marc Lasry, Tarak Ben Ammar, Lance Maerov, Richard Koenigsberg, Jeff Sackman, James Dolan and Paul Tudor Jones were also named in the suit.A spokesperson for Dolan said "Mr. Dolan is confident that he acted appropriately in all matters relating to his time on the Weinstein board."The others named in the suit either declined to respond to CNN, did not respond at the time of publication or could not be reached for comment.Harvey Weinstein's motion argues that the women have no standing for a class action suit because -- as drafted -- it "would include all women who ever met with Weinstein, regardless of whether they claimed to have suffered any identifiable harm as a result of that meeting.""Such women would include, presumably, Jennifer Lawrence, who told Oprah Winfrey she had known Weinstein since she was 20 years old and said 'he had only ever been nice to me,' and Meryl Streep, who stated publicly that Weinstein had always been respectful to her in their working relationship," the motion reads.Streep, who won a best actress Academy Award in 2012 for her portrayal as British stateswoman Margaret Thatcher in the Weinstein Company release "The Iron Lady," fired back in a statement to CNN."Harvey Weinstein's attorneys' use of my (true) statement- that he was not sexually transgressive or physically abusive in our business relationship- as evidence that he was not abusive with many OTHER women is pathetic and exploitive," she said. "The criminal actions he is accused of conducting on the bodies of these women are his responsibility, and if there is any justice left in the system he will pay for them- regardless of how many good movies, made by many good people, Harvey was lucky enough to have acquired or financed."Likewise Lawrence, who won an Oscar in 2013 for the Weinstein-produced "Silver Linings Playbook," took Weinstein to task."Harvey Weinstein and his company are continuing to do what they have always done which is to take things out of context and use them for their own benefit," Lawrence said in a statement provided to CNN Thursday. (KMGH) -- Police in Colorado say a couple accused of using stolen credit cards to rack up thousands of dollars in fraudulent charges had no problem bringing two young kids along."People using their children to shoplift, it's not something we see a lot of, but it's always very disappointing," said Mark Techmeyer, a spokesperson with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.Deputies said the unidentified couple stole a purse from a woman's car that was unlocked in the parking lot at Fairmont Elementary School in Lakewood. It happened on Sept. 15 around 3:30 p.m. local time.Within minutes of stealing the purse, investigators said the suspects began using the victim's credit cards."It happens very fast because they know the cards get canceled really quick," Techmeyer said.Deputies said the couple used the stolen cards to go on a three-day spending spree, fraudulently buying liquor, clothes, electronics, gas and food.Surveillance photos from a Kohl's store in Arvada showed the couple's two young kids with them as they checked out. In one of the photos, one of the kids is holding a shopping bag."It's a deplorable act," Techmeyer said.The duo with kids in tow then hit Mile High Wine Cellars, a liquor store next door.Owner Mark Crowder said their receipt for charges included Angry Orchard Cider, Ciroc Vodka, and expensive Cognac."She reported it stolen and then the charges continued," Techmeyer explained.Investigators said an error with the bank allowed the couple to keep using the stolen cards over three days, racking up nearly ,000 in fraudulent charges.Police are now hoping someone recognizes the couple in the surveillance photos."If there are any other charges that may surround having the children with them while they committed these acts is yet to be determined," Techmeyer said. 1872

LA JOLLA -- The iconic Scripps Pier stretches more than 1,000 feet over the ocean at La Jolla Shores.It also serves as a starting point for a new mosaic that maps the wildlife in and around the 1,900-foot deep canyons under the water. Over the last year, four artists have laid down upwards of 500,000 pieces of glass and porcelain. They created a 2,400 square-foot mosaic that shows everything from fish to stingrays to whales."When someone sees something and loves it, they want to know more about it, and they also want to protect it," said Wick Alexander, one of the artists. On Tuesday, the artists held an open house to view the mosaic. It's now tucked away inside a building in the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. In a few months, crews plan to install it at Kellogg Park at the Shores, a spot a smaller mosaic once occupied. That mosaic, installed in 2008, began crack and was removed. Alexander says the new one will be able to last a lot longer. Renowned oceanographer Walter Munk, one of the project's main backers, said he hopes the mosaic makes a lasting impression. "People who don't dive and who don't really realize can get a chance to see what's going on," he said. Munk and his wife Mary donated more than 0,000 to the project. They hope to raise another 0,000 through the Walter Munk Foundation to pay for the rest of the piece and the installation, which could happen in the next few months. 1431

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Last week, a Kansas City couple’s special day took a horrifying turn when the groom-to-be accidentally dropped the ring he was in the process of proposing with into the water beneath the picturesque bridge he and his bride-to-be were on.Seth Dixon and Ruth Salas’ friends got into the pond at Loose Park to find the lost gem, but their search was unsuccessful.Giving up hope of finding the wedding ring, the couple searched for a way to replace it. A friend started a GoFundMe page after video of the incident went viral, and the couple was eventually invited onto 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' for a do-over, complete with a custom-built set made to look like Loose Park and a brand new ring.Little did they know, hundreds of miles away, back home in Kansas City, a complete stranger had taken it upon himself to find their precious lost treasure.“I wanted to make sure they got it back before somebody else found it and had the opportunity to not give it back,” Michael Long said.Long lives in Springfield, Missouri, and made the 170-mile trek to Loose Park three different times to make sure Dixon and Salas got their ring back.He said he was scrolling through Facebook one day when he came across the viral video. Knowing he had the ability to find the ring, he went to search the water.Long dove for the first time on Thursday. He searched using only a metal detector and no scuba gear, bobbing up for air and back down to the pond floor for an hour and a half before calling it quits for the night. But he didn't give up.Long came back on Saturday, and this time searched for three hours until he finally pulled the diamond from the pond.Long searched the pond at Loose Park to make sure Dixon and Salas got their ring back.Long said he contacted a friend of the couple about 20 minutes after his discovery and made arrangements to get the ring back to Dixon and Salas as soon as possible.The couple finally got their ring back on Tuesday, thanks to Long.He said he felt compelled to help in the situation even though he didn’t know those involved personally because he wanted everyone to know that there are still good people out in the world.He also said he wanted there to be peace of mind that the couple got their ring back rather than someone stealing it or it remaining lost.Long’s other finds from his dives?
