Nevada Highway Patrol has found the driver who hit one of their patrol cars on Monday.It happened around 5:03 p.m. local time Monday. A trooper was conducting a traffic stop on U.S. 95 northbound near Summerlin Parkway. Both vehicles were stopped on the right shoulder when another vehicle disregarded the Move Over Law and hit the trooper's vehicle.The collision resulted in the door being almost torn off. The driver of the other vehicle kept going.After the hit-and-run driver was found Tuesday, the person was ticketed but not arrested. She was issued citations for driving without a valid license, hit-and-run property damage and failure to stop and render aid, all misdemeanors.Fortunately, the trooper was not injured.NHP released body-camera video of the incident.  801

NEW YORK CITY — A New York City mom allegedly threw her newborn son out of a bathroom window, District Attorney Melinda Katz said Tuesday. Sabina Dookram, 23, was charged with attempted murder, attempted manslaughter, assault and reckless endangerment.“This is a heartbreaking situation," Katz said. "A newborn baby has suffered greatly because of the alleged actions of his mother, who now faces serious charges and a lengthy prison sentence."A neighbor heard crying sounds on Sunday morning, officials said. When she went outside, she found a naked newborn boy on the ground next to the building's garbage. Responding officers found blood on the ground, on the side wall leading up to the bathroom window and on the window sill. The baby was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, Katz said. He was placed on a ventilator. Doctors determined he suffered a traumatic brain injury with bleeding and swelling about the brain and scalp and an abdominal injury with internal bleeding.Dookram gave birth on Saturday afternoon, prosecutors said she told officers."I cut the cord with a scissor from the bathroom," Dookram said according to court documents. "I panicked and threw it out of the bathroom window. I did not check on the baby, I put my clothes in the laundry hamper in the bathroom, I showered and went to sleep.”Dookram faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted. NEW YORK — Shake Shack employees have been cleared of any criminality after three police officers were sickened by drinks from a Lower Manhattan location Monday night, according to the NYPD."After a thorough investigation by the NYPD's Manhattan South investigators, it has been determined that there was no criminality by Shake Shack's employees," NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison tweeted just after 4 a.m. Tuesday.According to police sources, it appeared a machine at the chain's Fulton Center location was improperly cleaned, resulting in the residue of a cleaning agent or bleach remaining inside when it was used to make beverages for the police officers.The investigation came after three Bronx officers, assigned to a protest detail in Lower Manhattan, became ill after drinking beverages from the restaurant.PBA President Pat Lynch said the police officers were hospitalized but were expected to be okay.The Detectives' Endowment Association initially claimed on Twitter Monday night that officers were "intentionally poisoned" by workers at the Shake Shack location, a claim the NYPD did not corroborate early Tuesday. 1143
