BEIJING, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang has said that low-rent and affordable housing construction should be sped up to meet people's basic demands for living.The construction of public low-rent housing seeks to offer middle and low-income urban residents with adequate housing and affordable rents. This not only helps curb skyrocketing property prices in some cities, but is also conducive to bridge the income gap and assist in urbanization, Li told a national meeting which concluded on Saturday.While speaking at the two-day meeting, Li urged local authorities to create favorable taxation and financing policies to support such housing programs.He noted that private capital is also welcome to join the mission to diversify fund raising channels. BEIJING, June 21 (Xinhua) -- A senior Communist Party of China official Monday said China is ready to enhance cooperation with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).Li Yuanchao, head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks when meeting with a delegation of the Workers' Party of Korea, which was led by Kim Chang Ryong, the DPRK's Minister of Land and Environment Protection, in Beijing.Hailing the constant growth of China-DPRK relations, Li, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, reviewed the successful visit by the DPRK top leader Kim Jong Il in May.Chinese President Hu Jintao and Kim Jong Il reached important consensus on promoting bilateral pragmatic cooperation during that visit.China would work with the DPRK to fulfill the consensus and expand bilateral cooperation to push forward China-DPRK relations, Li said.Kim Chang Ryong said the DPRK held the unswerving policy of cementing and promoting friendship with China. BEIJING, July 23 (Xinhua) -- A senior official with the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Friday reaffirmed the Party's and government's unalterable will to clear pornography from the Internet.Liu Yunshan, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, said at a meeting held in Beijing that the government should continue its efforts to crack down on Internet websites that provide pornographic content or links to lewd information.China has established a special working group for coordinating a nationwide campaign to sweep out pornography and other illegal online publications.Officials with government agencies, including the police force and other law enforcement powers in attendance at the meeting, were asked to not only examine websites but also trace the sources of onlinepornography and break the profit chain from producing online pornography and lewd information.Operators of Internet websites, servers, telecom and even advertising agents will be under scrutiny for any pornography or lewd information spread by their services, according to a statement released at the meeting.In other matters discussed at the meeting, the government said it would continue to promote and establish a real name registration system for Internet users and online service operators, and improve its management over Internet search engines as well as information security regulations.
