BRISBANE, Australia, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang said here Saturday that China and Australia can lift their bilateral relationship to a new level through a strengthened dialogue and increased cooperation between the two trading partners. Li spoke during a meeting with Anna Bligh, the premier of Australia's state of Queensland. The vice premier said that during his visit to Australia a consensus was reached to enhance the Chinese-Australian friendship, to deepen mutual beneficial cooperation, and to respect and care for each other's core interests and important concerns. He also said the two sides released a joint declaration and signed a number of cooperation agreements. Queensland, she said, stands ready to promote cooperation with China in such fields as trade, technology, education, science and research, culture and tourism. Li, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remark during his visit to the first China Animation and Cartoon Arts Exhibition held in Beijing. Li said the animation and cartoon arts has played a very important role in enriching people's cultural lives and cultivating new economic growth area. The country's animation industry is standing at a crucial point, Li said, urging practitioners in the industry to work hard and continue reform and innovation to push for the development and prosperity of the industry. BEIJING, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Vice Premier Wang Qishan on Monday hoped China and Germany would increase mutually-beneficial cooperation in various fields to promote bilateral relations. "China and Germany are highly complementary in economy and share great potential for cooperation," Wang told visiting German Federal Minister of Economics and Technology Rainer Bruederle. Hailing the China-Germany 37-year diplomatic relations, Wang said the two nations had witnessed frequent high-level exchanges and increased cooperation in economy, trade, investment, science, technology, culture and other fields. China was in a period which witnessed accelerated industrialization and urbanization, Wang said. "We will unswervingly follow the principle of putting people first and the scientific concept on development to seek sustainable development."
