Clarence Waldron, Aretha Franklin's former publicist, says he is grappling with the singer's health crisis."I have been pushing myself, denying myself of the chance to grieve," he told CNN affiliate WDIV-TV in Detroit. CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) -- A video of a man yelling at a teenage employee at a Coronado Coffee Shop after being asked to wear a mask, is making its rounds on social media. This happened after some reports claim Coronado is beginning to grow a reputation of non-compliance when it comes to obeying the Public Health Order.Coronado's High Tide Bottle Shop and Kitchen was closed for two weeks after one of its employees tested positive for COVID-19. Sunday was their first day back open. Manager Lynne Papaconstantinou says the mask issue not up for debate."We have very few people that come here and don't want to wear a mask," Papaconstantinou said. "If they don't, I just ask them to leave. If they say, 'Well then, you've lost my business,' well then, we lost your business."At nearby Clayton's Coffee Shop, a Coronado mother who wished to remain anonymous noticed a man shouting at two teenage baristas Saturday morning. She recorded the altercation and posted the video on social media.The woman told ABC10News that her daughter, one of the baristas, was standing behind the counter at the time. She remembered that the man became irate after being asked to wear a mask when stepping up to the counter."It was just such a terrible demonstration of the way some people behave and bully the folks that are most vulnerable," she said. "To 17 and 18-year-old baristas that are trying to work and behave professionally."According to a recent Union-Tribune article, a local business group, Coronado Mainstreet, has been educating local businesses on the health order since May. It claims three have been flagged for continual non-compliance. CITRUS COUNTY, Florida — A woman was attacked by an alligator on Wednesday while she was swimming in a lake in Citrus County, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.The FWC says 24-year-old Felicitie Marie Gillette was swimming in Lake Hernando around 1 a.m. when an alligator grabbed her by the left arm and began to drag her underwater. She was reportedly able to fight off the alligator and call 911 for help.Gillette was taken to Ocala Regional Hospital for treatment of her injuries. According to the FWC, she was treated and released. She sustained non-life threatening injuries.The alligator is believed to 5 to 6-feet long.The FWC and the Citrus County Sheriff's Office are working to catch the alligator. A trapper has also been called to the scene.The public beach access to Lake Hernando is closed while a wildlife trapper searches for the alligator.Families who visit the lake say they've seen an alligator swim along the beach's public access area."The alligator was on the hunt," said Dennis Weis. "You could tell by the aggressive movements by the alligator."Dennis Weis shared cell phone video with ABC Action News showing an alligator roaming in the water near the beach, just a few days before the attack. CORONADO (CNS) - The City of Coronado and The Port of San Diego closed the Grand Caribe Shoreline Park Thursday until further notice, citing public health orders during the ongoing pandemic.The port had reopened the park in May, but because of heavier-than-usual use at the park -- which abuts Chula Vista on the bayside of the Coronado Cays -- it has become challenging to enforce social distancing for visitors."However, due to heavier than normal use, enforcement of the State and County’s health orders, which requires measures to ensure park visitors are social distancing from others, has become a challenge," a release from the port read.The park will be closed until gatherings are allowed without restrictions. "Closed" signs will be posted at the park, and the Coronado Police Department will assist the port with enforcement of the closure. 859

CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) - Coronado residents who felt the need for speed found themselves stuck in traffic Monday as a prop fighter jet from the Top Gun sequel was moved on city streets. The F-14 fighter was hauled through traffic to the Coronado Bridge on its way to East San Diego County about 9 p.m. A witness stuck in the backup told 10News it was a tight squeeze on the small streets. “They had to do a little backing up, and back and forth for a few minutes,” Emily Foster said. “It finally pulled through and missed a parked car by inches.” The jet, which belongs to the San Diego Air and Space Museum Gillespie Field Annex, was used for the filming of Top Gun 2 at Naval Air Station North Island over the winter. During filming, the F-14 never took flight. “You’ll see it move in the movie, but that’s movie stuff,” said Annex manager Jeff Eads. Crews disassembled the jet for its trip from Coronado to East County. “Take wings off of it, the elevators, the horizontal stabilizers,” said Eads, who had the job of putting it back together.Photos posted on the SDASM Annex Facebook page showed the fighter jet being returned to Gillespie Field with the unique Top Gun markings on its side.Air and Space Museum officials were not able to disclose details about the terms of the plane's involvement in the movie. 1324
