FORT WORTH, Texas -- A baseball coach at Texas Wesleyan University who told a Colorado athlete that the university doesn't accept recruits from Colorado because of past issues with drug tests has been fired.University President Frederick Slabach said in a news conference Thursday morning that Mike Jeffcoat was fired because of the email he sent to the Colorado athlete as well as an unspecified NAIA rule violation."The comments Mike Jeffcoat made are in no way a reflection of our university or its values," Slabach said. "We do not tolerate discrimination."Because of an ongoing investigation, Slabach did not provide any details about the alleged rule violation, only saying it was related to the eligibility of players and not any kind of discrimination.Gavin Bell, a senior at Cherokee Trail High School in Aurora, expressed interest in attending Texas Wesleyan University in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and joining the school's baseball program, but was rejected in an email from Jeffcoat.That email read: "Thanks for the interest in our program. Former "The Price is Right" host Bob Barker, 94, was hospitalized on Monday with non-life threatening injuries, Hollywood Reporter confirmed. Hollywood Reporter said that ambulances were dispatched to Barker's Los Angeles residence at 1 p.m. PT.Barker's manager told TMZ that the 94-year-old woke up to severe back pain. TMZ captured photos of Barker being loaded onto the back of an ambulance. He was then transported to Cedars-Sinai hospital.Barker was a fixture of daytime TV since the early days of television. Barker spent 35 years as host of The Price is Right until his retirement in 2007. Anthony Weiner is set to be released from prison about three months earlier than initially scheduled, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website.In May 2017, Weiner pleaded guilty to one charge of transferring obscene material to a minor in federal court in Manhattan. (AP) -- Police in Flagstaff say a group of teens killed a 23-year-old man after he allegedly inappropriately touched one of the girls involved in the killing.Flagstaff police said on Friday that Jaron James was found dead on Sept. 7 and that four teens, including two who are underage, have been arrested.Police say James was killed at a motel and that the suspects knew him. They say the group attacked James after he touched one of the suspects, a 16-year-old girl from Flagstaff.Eighteen-year-old Lawrence Sampson-Kahn and 19-year-old Kayson Russell are among the four arrested.
