LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Police arrested two people after they found an infant lying in a Laurel County roadway Thursday morning.According to the Laurel County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a complaint of a woman running down Vaughn Ridge Road at 3:15 a.m. Thursday. When officers arrived, they found a woman who appeared to be under the influence and an infant in the roadway. The temperature at the time was 35 degrees, and the infant was wearing what police described as "minimal clothing."The five-and-a-half-month-old boy was checked out by EMS.When officers went to the woman's home, they found the father of the child and noted he also appeared to be under the influence of an "unknown substance." The temperature inside the resident was 60 degrees. Child welfare removed both the infant and their older sibling from the home.Destiny Dawn McQueen, 21, and Michael August, 49, were both charged with wanton endangerment, endangering the welfare of a minor and public intoxication. INDIANAPOLIS — Nearly 400 guns were seized from an Indianapolis gun store as part of a months-long federal investigation. United States Attorney Josh Minkler said the seizures happened on Tuesday from G2 Sports Products. The investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives found evidence that G2 Sports "knowingly transferred handguns to an out-of-state resident, made false entries in records, failed to report multiple sales of handguns and knowingly transferred firearms to a prohibited person."The business agreed to an enhanced surrender of its federal license, according to the US Attorney's Office, which means none of the owners will be eligible to reapply for their license or deal in firearms again. The owners allowed ATF to seize the approximately 390 firearms, silencers and receivers which included rifles, shotguns and handguns with a total estimated value of 4,000. JEFFERSON CITY, Missouri — As soon as the sirens sounded, Ed Stroesser and his family took shelter in their basement. Together they listened to the radio, waiting for the storm to pass. Across the city, Gerry Mack and his coworkers huddled, waiting anxiously. "We kind of tracked the path of the tornado. You [could] hear the buzzing and the tornado over us. It was a very eerie feeling," Mack said. The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-3 tornado, with winds up to 160 miles per hour, touched down in Jefferson City, Missouri, on Wednesday. The twister ripped roofs off of homes, overturned semi-trucks, and took out walls of businesses and houses. Stroesser's business was one of the places impacted. The wind knocking down the east side of the building, leaving the inside of his office exposed. "Oh it's horrible. We've been a business here for 40 years," he said. Lauren Mulvihill did not know what to expect when she was called to the hospital for an Uber pick up.89-year-old Ronald Dembner had just been discharged from the hospital with no one to take him home.Last week, Mulvihill drove Dembner from the hospital in Henry County, Georgia, to his home and helped him inside. When she saw the terrible condition of his home, she knew she needed to help.Dembner, who Mulvihill calls Mr. Ronald, is a widower and veteran who now lives alone with his dog King. He has no living family. Mulvihill said that Dembner had not called someone to help clean his house out of fear they would take it away from him.The veteran has been living in squalor. Dembner has his wits about him, but he has a hard time getting around, cleaning the house and picking up after his dog.Mulvihill knew she couldn't clean up the house herself. That's when the single mom went to Facebook to call for help. The response was overwhelming.Dozens of volunteers came forward and began to clean and help strip apart the house. In just a week's time, they have already removed all of the garbage, the old furniture and the old carpet.The next step is painting the walls and putting in new floor.
