SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer announced Wednesday that a record number of potholes have been filled in the city in 2019.An average year sees 32,000 potholes filled, but Wednesday crews filled pothole number 49,000. This year the city tripled the number of pothole repair teams and extended their hours to include nights and weekends. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police identified Monday the man shot and killed in the Shelltown neighborhood. Ricardo Moran, 49, was identified as one of two men who was shot on S. 42nd Street Saturday at 1:35 a.m. Officers received multiple 911 calls about gunshots. When they reached the scene, they found Moran and an unidentified 56-year-old man suffering from injuries. Witnesses heard a vehicle speeding away following the gunshots but were not able to provide a description. Moran died at the hospital. The second victim is expected to survive, police said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego County reported 409 new coronavirus cases Thursday and a single-day record of 17 new deaths from the virus.Thursday's new cases had a 4% positive rate out of 10,434 reported tests, according to the county, bringing the region's total to 21,855 cases. The county's new deaths brought the county's death toll to 465. Eleven men and six women died between July 2 and July 15, and their ages ranged from 51 to 90 years of age. All but one had underlying conditions.The county also reported one new community outbreak traced to a gym, bringing the region's total to 14 community outbreaks in one week — double the region's trigger.Of the region's total COVID-19 cases, the county says 2,127 or 9.7% have needed hospitalization, and 558 or 2.6% of all cases and 26.2% of hospitalized cases were admitted to an intensive care unit.The county remained above the state’s threshold of no more than 100 cases per every 100,000 residents at 153.2 cases. 978

More than 50 years later, the Fornacas went into the car business.The family still runs Frank Toyota, Subaru, and Hyundai. The dealerships are known for their catchy phrase, "Is that you, Frank?"Fornaca suffered from congestive heart failure.
