Boeing has developed a software patch and pilot training program to address issues with the Boeing 737 MAX identified in the October Lion Air crash, the Federal Aviation Administration said Wednesday.The FAA and other airplane regulators worldwide grounded the 737 MAX a week ago following a crash in Ethiopia. An incoming University of Southern California freshman died in a freeway accident over the weekend, the university confirmed in a Monday statement.Eighteen-year-old Matthew Olson was walking south on Interstate-110 when he was hit by two cars at around 2:43 a.m. on Saturday, according to a news release from the California Highway Patrol.Olson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics, CHP said. He was walking on I-110 between two FasTrak lanes, according to the release."It is unknown at this time why (Olson) was walking in the freeway lanes," the release says.One person has been arrested, according to a CHP report.The incident is still under investigation.He was from Newport Beach and had graduated from Corona del Mar High School. BUFFALO, N.Y. — It's chicken nuggets and soft pretzels on the menu at South Buffalo Charter School, but suspension is being served for some lunchroom workers. Three are seen in pictures, posted on a fourth worker's public Instagram account. They are posing on a prep table in the school cafeteria. One of the pictures shows a woman on her knees, with her feet on the table, and a peeled banana held in a phallic position. The woman who took the pictures told 7 Eyewitness News I-Team reporter Ed Drantch, "it was a joke."The pictures were anything but a joke for Dave Cervi, President of Personal Touch Food Service, a third-party vendor that is hired by the school for food service."I can't believe anyone that works in a school, with children, would even consider doing something like that. It was horrifying to us," Cervi said.Personal Touch has been under contract with South Buffalo Charter School for five years.Cervi says this is the first time he's ever dealt with something like this. He says he had the four employees surrender their school ID tags to Principal David Ehrle, and walked out of the building."Everyone has an understanding, upon being hired, this is not the type of behavior you do in general, but certainly not at a school. We don't condone it and we're here to provide a safe environment for the students," Ehrle said.The woman who took these pictures has her own children enrolled at this school. At least one person was shot at a food-service container plant near Atlanta on Friday morning, and the shooter was believed to still be inside the plant, a federal source with knowledge of the situation said.Gunfire was reported at Dart Container Corp. in Conyers, about 25 miles east of downtown Atlanta, and authorities are looking for a shooter, Rockdale County Sheriff's Deputy Lee Thomas said.A statement from Dart confirmed that one of its employees was shot around 7 a.m."We evacuated the building and management staff are assisting law enforcement, who are securing the site.
