Being rushed through the double doors at Northwest Hospital, he said, was the day God gave him a second chance to live."(The doctor) said, 'You had 30 days top, 45 you would have been dead for sure,'" he said.That was back in 2007, after being involved in a car crash and suffering a neck and foot injury. Lyles said his doctor prescribed Percocet and Ativan to treat the pain, the beginning of the end for him, Lyles stated. That's because one day his daily dose wasn't enough to end the pain."I'll take another Percocet, and when I did, I liked the feeling and from that point forward, I started increasing my drug intake," he added.After that, the rest of the year became a blur, he said. His life began closing down on him, divorcing his wife, and losing communication with his only son. Until a serious conversation with his doctor convinced him to seek professional help: "He told me you need to go back and listen to them and so I did," he explained.Ever since, Lyler said he has been the best student at Sierra Tucson, where he has been focusing on his recovery, and most importantly staying clean for nearly 10 years.He also wants to make sure other patients find the courage to recover. He hopes to pass along a very important message, "take care of yourself first and the world around you will change," he said. 1857

The leaders of North and South Korea will meet on April 27 for the first time since 2007, the two countries announced Thursday after high-level talks.The landmark meeting between President Moon Jae-in and Kim Jong Un will be held at Freedom House on the southern side of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), according to the joint statement issued after the talks.Officials from both sides will hold working-level talks on April 4 to prepare for the meeting and agree on security and media arrangements, it added.The summit will be seen as a victory for Moon, who has long been pushing hard for diplomatic relations with North Korea. The Harford County, Maryland Sheriff's Department is hoping you can help find the people who tried to steal an ATM from a Shell Gas station.The attempted theft happened at 3:34 a.m. on March 16. Two unknown individuals broke into a Shell station in Belcamp, Maryland.Surveillance video shows one suspect wrapping a chain around the ATM.  Another suspect is in a vehicle and tries to pull it out of the store using the vehicle. They were unsuccessful.  Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Amanda McCormack at 443-567-7091 or you can submit an anonymous tip with Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.  668

The National Hurricane Center said Friday night it now expects Tropical Storm Hanna to strengthen into a hurricane by the time it makes landfall on the Texas coast tomorrow.In response, the National Hurricane Center has issued hurricane warnings for sections of the Texas coast. Tropical storm warnings also remain in effect for parts of the Texas coast.The hurricane warning extends from Fort Mansfield, Texas, to Mesquite Bay, Texas.The National Hurricane Center said that Hanna has gained strength on Friday as it makes it approach to the Texas coast. As of 10 p.m. CT, Hanna had top winds of 65 MPH. 611

The gunman behind the Texas church massacre killed his grandmother-in-law during the attack, multiple friends of the woman told CNN.Devin Patrick Kelley had domestic problems and texted his mother-in-law as recently as Sunday morning, not long before he carried out the largest mass shooting in Texas history, authorities said."We know that he expressed anger towards his mother-in-law, who attends this church," said Freeman Martin of the Texas Department of Public Safety. He said Kelley had a history of sending her threatening texts.But his mother-in-law was not inside the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs when Kelley sprayed the congregation with gunfire and killed 26 people. The youngest killed was a 17-month-old girl, her family told CNN.
