HONG KONG, July 3 (Xinhua) -- A helicopter departing for Macao made an emergency landing in waters at Hong Kong Victoria Harbor on Saturday. All of 13 people on board were safely rescued.At around 12:04 noon (GMT 4:04), the Sky Shuttle type AgustaWestland AW139 helicopter, flight no. EMU2, made an emergency landing at sea about 500 meters northwest of Shun Tak Center at Sheung Wan, Hong Kong Island shortly after taking off."The pilot heard a loud bang at the back and decided to land on the waters," Acting Director General of the Civil Aviation Department (CAD) Leung Yu-keung said at a press briefing on Saturday that they will send some of the fittings broken down from the wreckage to Italy, where the copter was manufactured, for investigation. The crashed helicopter is salvaged on the sea area between the Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsular, south China, July 3, 2010. The helicopter crashed on Saturday noon, and all 13 persons onboard have been rescued.CAD will invite the participation of the accident investigation authorities of Macao and Italy. XIANGNING, Shanxi, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Eight miners trapped for 35 hours in a flooded colliery in north China's Shanxi Province were saved early Friday, rescuers said. One miner is still missing.The eight survivors were taken to hospital for treatment. They are in stable conditions, said Li Youcai, deputy chief of Shengping Coal Mine Workers' Hospital in Taitou Town.They are expected to recover and be discharged from hospital in one week, Li said.The first four survivors were rescued and sent to hospital at around 2:30 a.m.; the other four miners were helped out of the pit at around 4:10 a.m., rescuers saidThe eight survivors were known to be alive and had been in close contact with the rescuers via phone after the Shengping Coal Mine in Jixian County where they worked was flooded with torrential rain water Wednesday.The accident happened at around 5 p.m. when 23 miners were performing repair work underground. Fourteen miners managed to escape.Rescuers were still trying to find out the whereabouts of the last missing miner, who lost contact with the others after the flood.The Shengping Coal Mine, owned by the Shanxi Coal Transportation and Sales Group Co., Ltd., has an annual output of 900,000 tonnes.

NANNING, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Six people were killed and eleven others injured in an explosion at an illegal private firecracker factory in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, local police said Sunday.The blast hit the factory in a village in Lingshan County, Qinzhou City at about 6 p.m. Sunday, the police said. The cause of the explosion is being investigated.Two people were killed on the spot while four injured died in the hospital after treatments failed.Police said they have arrested a suspect surnamed Lao.Authorities have ordered a city-wide crackdown on unlicensed firecracker factories following the incident.
