(KGTV) -- The Vista Unified School District announced Tuesday that its secondary schools would be pivoting back to virtual learning until the end of winter break.The decision only applies to district middle and high schools; students will have to finish the next three weeks of instruction virtually.Vista's elementary schools will continue with in-person learning.According to the latest community update on the district's website, the reason for the pause in in-person learning is based on the recent increase in the spread of COVID-19 "globally, nationally, regionally and locally."It goes on to say, "While Vista Unified has seen no evidence of the virus spreading within the school environment after 26 days of instruction in the Vista Classic learning model, the impact of the virus within our community is causing staffing challenges for teachers, instructional assistants, custodians, and other employees."The school board has a meeting scheduled for Dec. 15 to revisit the situation and discuss possible adjustments for the second half of the school year. 1086

Mendoza’s son was killed in 2014 in a head-on collision by a man who was under the influence and living in the U.S. illegally.She and and other parents whose children have been killed by people in the country illegally have labeled themselves “Angel Moms” and have made frequent appearances at the White House and Trump campaign events.Mendoza had apologized for the tweet, writing that she “retweeted a very long thread earlier without reading every post within the thread” and said it “does not reflect my feelings or personal thoughts whatsoever.”A Republican familiar with the plans who spoke on condition of anonymity cited controversy as the reason for pulling Mendoza. WASHINGTON — Congress is poised to pass one of the largest economic relief bills in history on Monday. New forms of direct payments will be issued to millions Americans under the bill, assuming it passes and is signed by President Donald Trump. HOW MUCH WILL YOU GET? The IRS will issue checks based on your AGI or adjusted gross income. The information will come from your latest tax return which for most Americans is the 2019 calendar year. If you earn ,000 a year or less, you'll receive 0. If you earn between ,000 and ,000 a year, the amount will be prorated. The more your make, the less you'll get until you hit that ,000 threshold. Earners over that amount will not receive any money. Head of households will be able to earn up to 2,000 a year and still be eligible for a check. Couples who file their taxes jointly will earn similar levels to those who file individually. For instance, a couple who earns 0,000 or less a year will receive ,200. Couples who earn between 0,000 and 4,000 will receive less than ,200.Those with dependents, such as a child, will earn 0 per child. WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge has ruled that former national security adviser John Bolton can move forward in publishing his tell-all book.The Trump administration had tried to block the release because of concerns that classified information could be exposed.The decision from U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth is a victory for Bolton in a court case that involved core First Amendment and national security concerns.The ruling means a broader election-year readership and distribution for a memoir that paints an unflattering portrait of President Donald Trump’s foreign policy decision-making during the turbulent year-and-a-half that Bolton spent in the White House.Bolton wrote in his book, “The Room Where It Happened,” that Trump pleaded with China’s president during a 2019 summit to help his reelection prospects by purchasing more American farm products.Bolton writes that he is “hard-pressed to identify any significant Trump decision during my tenure that wasn’t driven by re-election calculations.” And he says Trump “remained stunningly uninformed on how to run the White House, let alone the huge federal government.”Bolton also alleges Trump told China's leader he was right to build detention camps to house hundreds of thousands of ethnic minorities. Walmart says they plan to pay their workers in the United States a holiday cash bonus.In a press release, the company announced an estimated 8 million in special cash bonuses on Dec. 24, which comes out to be 0 for full-time employees and 0 for part-time workers.Drivers, coaches, and assistant managers will also receive a special cash bonus, Walmart said in a press release.The company paid employees 9 million in quarterly bonuses on Nov. 25, "following a strong third-quarter business performance."According to Walmart, it has paid a total of more than .8 billion in bonuses in 2020.Walmart also announced they are extending its leave policy through July 5, 2021, amid the ongoing pandemic.The policy currently provides "associates with up to two weeks of pay should they need to stay home for COVID-related reasons, including mandated quarantines, symptoms, or illness."The company said employees unable to return to work after that time would receive additional pay replacement for up to 26 weeks. 1025
