Virtual reality could soon play a role in helping during childbirth. Some women are watching relaxing scenery and listening to soothing sounds during labor with VR goggles. It’s part of the research being done at Cedars-Sinai, a medical center in Los Angeles. The research is being done to see if VR can help ease pain as labor gets more intense. “What we did find was that women found it very helpful,” says Dr. Melissa Wong, who specializes in OB/GYN and maternal fetal medicine at Cedars-Sinai. “That women were describing it … one of my favorite descriptions of it was a woman (who) spoke about it as being like a virtual doula." That's some of the early feedback from women who took part in the study.Wong says there were some women who found the headset isolating because you can’t see others. But she thinks VR could be useful, whether someone is using pain medication or not. “I think it has the potential for the woman who wants to defer her epidural,” Wong says. “And then the other thing is, there are women who also don’t get complete relief from an epidural or who still feel significant anxiety even after an epidural.”The full results of the study will include the pain management scores and will be released in February 2020. 1255

A Beverly Hills real estate agent and another man are accused of burglarizing celebrities' homes in Southern California, sometimes during open-house viewings, prosecutors say.Real estate agent Jason Emil Yaselli and Benjamin Eitan Ackerman have been charged with several crimes, accused of taking more than than 0,000 through fraud and embezzlement, the Los Angeles County district attorney's office said.Their alleged victims include musicians Usher and Adam Lambert, as well as "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" stars Paul and Dorit Kemsley and former NFL player Shaun Phillips, prosecutors said.Ackerman, of Beverly Hills, was arrested August 16, and Yaselli was arrested Wednesday.From December 2016 to August 2018, prosecutors allege, Yaselli encouraged Ackerman to steal luxury items from 14 homes and then sell them to make payments on Yaselli's credit card.In many cases, the men identified the targets or committed the burglaries during open houses, prosecutors allege. A Chick-fil-A employee in Georgia is being credited with saving a boy from getting strangled after the mother reportedly begged for help in the drive thru of the fast food restaurant. Security camera video shows Logan Simmons jumped out of the drive thru window and into the distressed customer's car. He then pulled out a knife and cut the boy's seat belt. "You could see he was turning red and losing pigmentation in his face," Simmons told WSB-TV. "I just jumped out the window and ran straight down to the car."WSB reported that the boy received a call an hour later from the boy's mom thanking him for his actions. Simmons' mother was amazed with her son's quick thinking."I'm amazed he didn't panic," his mother Teri Simmons said. "As his mother, I would have panicked.
