SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A Hillcrest man was left feeling helpless after he spots a burglar inside his home on Christmas Eve while he was on the other side of the country. Tyler Luna was visiting family in Mississippi when he wanted to check on a recent gift from a client. He got a red flower that is supposed to bloom on Christmas. Before he left, he set up surveillance cameras and placed the flower in a window nearby. He opened the app on his phone and saw the flower and a thief inside his home."Your heart sinks and its like what’s happening," Luna said. In a panic, Luna called 911 but the Mississippi dispatchers told him they couldn’t help. He flew home Christmas night and met with police immediately to file a police report. "It was very scary."When he went inside his home he found his class ring missing, his watch drawer empty of all watches, and some valuables in his nightstand, all gone. Luna tells 10News he feels violated and unsafe in his own home. 973
SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A power outage affected thousands San Diego Gas & Electric customers in the Ocean Beach area and SeaWorld late Friday.The outage was reported just before 4 p.m. It wasn't immediately clear what led to the outage.SeaWorld said the power outage was short lived and only affected the central and west areas of the theme park. No guests were trapped on any rides or injured and all animals were okay, according to the park.UPDATED TRAFFIC CONDITIONSThe outage also hit a portion of San Diego International Airport. Officials say power has since been restored but had affected Terminal 2 and the Rental Car Center.In total, about 15,000 customers have been affected, according to the power company. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A photographer who recorded a security guard's exchange in Lemon Grove with a woman about immigration is explaining the situation.Sonia Sorrano says she is still shaken by the heated confrontation she stopped to record while shopping with her 9-year-old daughter."How am I supposed to tell my daughter she can trust a person in a uniform and badge?" SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A mountain lion that scratched a young boy at the Blue Sky Ecological Reserve in Poway last week was captured and killed, state Fish and Wildlife officials told the San Diego Union-Tribune.On June 12, park officials said a 4-year-old boy suffered scratches to his back and thigh after an encounter with the animal on the park grounds.The boy, who was on a hike with his family at the time of the incident, is expected to make a full recovery.RELATED: 4-year-old attacked by mountain lion according to Fish and WildlifeThe park was temporarily closed after the attack.The U-T, citing a Fish and Wildlife official, reported that the mountain lion in the incident was found and killed several hours after the boy was attacked.The official told the newspaper that DNA tests confirmed the animal -- a 2-year-old female weighing 70 pounds -- was the one responsible for scratching the boy. 911

The firefighters from Station 32 on Briarwood Road recently responded to a medical call involving an elderly woman. While on scene, they found the home had a damaged wheelchair ramp. After the crew left duty, they went back to the home to rebuild the ramp. 377
