KANSAS CITY, Mo. — School officials at Blue Valley School District in Kansas say they are having a problem with students vaping at school. The problem is so severe that school officials are calling it an "epidemic." "Students have been caught vaping in classes, in our hallways, in our bathrooms," said David Stubblefield, Blue Valley's executive director of school administration. "Kids have come to us and said they cannot sit through an entire class without vaping." According to the school district, vaping usage has increased among students in high school year after year. The district has also seen students vaping in middle school. Every day, principals are dealing with some problem involving vaping, Stubblefield said. "A lot of times there’s not a long-lasting smell to it and the vape can dissipate very quickly. They are so easily concealable because they look like normal, everyday devices, like a USB," Stubblefield said. To combat vaping, the school district is focusing on education. Lawyers for the Department of Justice plan to tell a federal judge in Maryland Friday afternoon that the Trump administration will continue to explore options of adding a citizenship question to the 2020 census, according to an administration official familiar with the plans.The official stressed that as of now the census will be printed without the citizenship question.Earlier Friday, President Donald Trump said he is considering his options which include a potential executive order, or an addendum to the questionnaire that would allow the question to be added at a later date. Such a move could require the administration to provide a new justification for the addition of the question, following a Supreme Court ruling requiring a new rationale.The move by the Justice Department would mean that the administration will face daunting legal challenges and a tenuous timeline. Judge George Hazel in Maryland had told the Justice Department that if the administration refused to definitively say it will not add a citizenship question to the census, he would establish a schedule to hear new evidence over the next 45 days. INDIANAPOLIS — A fatal crash over the weekend is now a homicide after an autopsy uncovered a gunshot wound to the victim's head. Indiana State Police first responded to the two-vehicle crash on I-70 near the 96 mile marker around 7:23 p.m. Saturday. The victim, 27-year-old Devon Anderson, was found unresponsive inside one of the vehicles and pronounced dead at the scene. Anderson's injuries were believed to have been from the collision, state police said. The second driver, 24-year-old Juan Garrado Vivas, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. During the autopsy that week, the Marion County Coroner's office's recovered a bullet from inside Anderson's head, which was determined to be his cause of death. The new information led Indiana State Police to begin a criminal investigation into Anderson's death. Detectives believe Vivas fired a shot from a handgun while driving on the interstate and struck Anderson in the head. Anderson's vehicle then crossed into the path of Vivas' vehicle causing a crash. Vivas was arrested on September 25. He's currently facing a charge of murder in connection with Anderson's death. The incident remains under investigation. 1204

It’s taken a long time to assemble the grooming and retail staff here.”With restrictions recently lifted, Urban Dogg is back in business just in time for shave down season.“I wish I had been the first person to call because I had to wait another two weeks to get in,” said pet owner Sara who added she hasn’t groomed her dog Scotch since COVID-19 concerns hit in mid-March. That’s a timeline Taylor says could have caused major health hazards.“We had situations where dog’s nails were growing into their pads,” he said. “We had dogs that were severely matted and struggled to performing bodily functions properly.”With many dogs requiring extra attention, Taylor has now added a recovery condition surcharge.“We are taking extra time here on each dog,” he said. “It also helps our groomers.”Taylor says there’s been such an increase for these services that Urban Dogg is now looking to add extra groomers. He says workers can make a lot of money.“Full-time groomers make anywhere between ,000 to ,000 a year,” he said.Taylor calls dog grooming an important trade while many customers are happy to get their dogs cleaned up.“I’m really glad to get back and be able to give my business and my dog feels a lot better,” Sara said.
