It’s easy to overeat during the holidays with all the delicious offerings. The average holiday meal has about 3,000 calories, according to the Calorie Control Council. That doesn’t even include alcohol you may consume!"People kind of let themselves go, because they think it's okay,” says physical trainer Brian Brenzels. “Because they have an excuse to not workout and eat everything."  However, don’t stress too much. The average person only gains two pounds during the holidays, according to a study published in Psychology and Behavior.  But if that two pounds scare you, how can you avoid it?When tomorrow comes, and you're faced with an abundance of food, Brenzels says to grab the smallest plate.   “If you grab the bigger plate, you tend to fill it up completely,” he says. “You grab the smaller plate, you fill it up, that's still a quarter of the portions you would eat."  When it comes to leftovers, give it away.   "A lot of people are eating all the leftovers,” Brenzels says. “Send the leftovers home with people in small increments. Set yourself up for success."  And once Friday morning rolls around, make sure you get back at it.   "Still wake up, even if it's a walk, get up,” the trainer recommends. “Get moving, get that metabolism going. Get that workout in in the morning, and then its right back to normal."  Whatever you do, Brenzel says, don't wait till the New Year to make your resolution to get fit.  "Make your resolution right now,” he says. “Friday. INDIANAPOLIS -- A Bloomington, Indiana auto dealership was told to stop selling cars after the Indiana Secretary of State's Office discovered the business is not licensed in the state. The secretary of state's office issued a cease and desist Friday to H Auto for selling cars without a license and illegally issuing interim license plates.H Auto has been advertising in English and Chinese and allegedly may have been targeting Chinese students at Indiana University, according to the secretary of state. The advertisements say to make an appointment because H Auto does business by appointment only, but typically most dealerships do walk-in business.Some customers of H Auto allege that they were sold cars with fake New Jersey license plates.Others allege the auto dealer took their money but they never got a title for the vehicle they purchased.The secretary of state's office and Bloomington police are currently investigating.If you believe you may have been victimized by H Auto, call the secretary of state's office at 317-234-7190 1074

INDIANAPOLIS — The Marion County Coroner will be releasing the autopsy results to the family of Dreasjon Reed on the same day the family was planning a press conference to demand its release.The 21-year-old man was shot and killed by an IMPD officer following a pursuit on May 6.The Reed family lawyers had requested a copy of the autopsy report, which the Marion County Coroner's Office says was completed on June 12 and then sent to the special prosecutor, but were initially denied their request after the special prosecutor asked that the report not be released.The Reed family had scheduled a press conference for 11 a.m. on Aug. 5 outside the Marion County Coroner's Office to demand the report be released.The Marion County Coroner issued a statement just after 10 a.m. saying they had received a decision from the Marion Superior Court that morning authorizing the release of the autopsy report to Reed's mother, Demetree Wynn.After receiving the report from the coroner's office, Wynn still addressed the media gathered at the coroner's office."You can not do what you did to my son and tell me it was right," Wynn said. "I've been a nurse for 20 years and I'm not stupid. Don't insult my intelligence by assuming I don't know how to read. I know what it says. And if it was your child, I promise you, you couldn't stand here.""I can't breathe, my heart hurts. But I'm still standing here and there ain't no way in hell you can do that to somebody else's kid and be okay with it," Wynn said. "If you're okay with it, let me do it to your son and I'm gonna show you how it feels. I promise you that."The Special Prosecutor overseeing the case, Rosemary Khoury, released the following statement following the release of the report."The Marion County Superior Court has ruled to allow the release of the autopsy report by the Marion County Coroner to the family of Dreasjon Reed. We fully anticipate that the family attorney will adhere to the confidentiality requirements set forth by the Indiana Code which prohibits the release of certain information contained in the report. The State has petitioned the Court to allow for the investigation to be completed before releasing the report so that a thorough and complete investigation could be conducted. The investigation is still ongoing and the team respects and will adhere to the Court's decision as it works to provide as comprehensive an investigation as possible."Khoury was appointed as the special prosecutor on June 4. On July 2, the court ordered IMPD and the Marion County lab to turn over all evidence to Indiana State Police. In the desert miles outside of Las Vegas, a large white tube stretches for one third of a mile, and what happens inside could revolutionize travel. What if you could get to cities hundreds of miles apart in minutes instead of hours?Virgin Hyperloop One says this is no pipe dream.Dr. Anita Sengupta leads the team to make the technology come together. At their last speed test in the tube, she says their pod traveled 240 miles per hour, limited only by the length of the track. At top speeds, Sengupta says the Hyperloop is expected to travel at about 700 miles per hour. That, she said, means Hyperloop is not science fiction. “It is science fact because you can see it right here.” She spent most of her career working at NASA but brought her expertise back down to earth to help make Hyperloop a reality. This project reminds her of working on spacecraft. “I’m used to working with vacuum systems,” she said. “I’m used to working with electromagnetic propulsion.”How does Hyperloop work?Sengupta said the Hyperloop also uses a vacuum system. An electromagnetically propelled pod, designed to fit nine to twelve people, would levitate and travel through a vacuum tube. Between the levitation and vacuum system, she said the ride would remind people of an airplane but better. “There is no such thing as turbulence, right? Because you actually have no air around you on the outside of the pod so the ride is actually going to be much smoother,” she said. “You’re not even going to be able to tell you’re going that fast.” When will it be ready?“We would like to have them operational within the next two to three years,” said Sengupta.  1686
