SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police are searching for a sexual assault suspect who forced a woman into his truck and drove to another area to assault her this week.The suspect drove alongside the 27-year-old woman in the 3900 block of Delta Street just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday, San Diego Police said. The man exited the truck and threatened to use a Taser on the woman if she didn't comply with his demands.Police said he forced the woman into his truck, drove to an unknown area near 39th St. and Broadway, and sexually assaulted the woman. He then drove to the area of 32nd St. and National Ave. and let the woman go after she pleaded with him, police said.The man is described as a black male between 40- and 50-years-old, with short black hair, and a graying goatee. He weighs an estimated 160 to 170 pounds and stands about 5-foot, 6-inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black or dark blue t-shirt and gray basketball shorts.The man's vehicle is described as an older model white extended-cab pickup truck, possibly with a blue stripe on the side.Chula Vista Police reported a similar incident with a similarly described suspect and vehicle happened in their area. Video captured the vehicle in the vicinity of the E St. trolley station in Chula Vista. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police are searching for the man they say shot at two people in a Clairemont strip mall before fleeing in an SUV Wednesday morning.Police say a heavy-set Hispanic man shot at two men in the 5600 block of Balboa Ave. at about 9:30 a.m. The two men were standing near or were inside a red Ford Mustang, San Diego Police added.One of the victim fled the area on foot, while the other victim, a 21-year-old man, drove himself to a nearby urgent car facility. He was treated for a gunshot wound to the upper leg.The suspect was a passenger in a white GMC SUV that was being driven by a woman, SDPD said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — More than 0,000 went missing from New Hope Friendship Baptist Church in 2008 and 2010, according to new Sheriff’s Department investigation report Friday.The investigation was an Internal Affairs probe into Lt. Devera Scott. Scott was also the treasurer for New Hope Friendship Baptist Church during the time the money went missing.The report claims Scott admitted to church officials she took the money. However, the church told investigators they did not want to press charges as Scott had promised the church she would it pay it all back through monthly payments, and a portion of her retirement.The church also told investigators they were in the business of forgiveness and did not want to ruin Scott’s career, according to the documents.Investigators also learned that Scott made the church a beneficiary to a 0,000 life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance policy.The internal investigation became public Friday, following the ruling of a San Diego judge. The decision comes after local media, including 10News, sued to keep police unions from blocking departments from releasing records related to officer misconduct.The San Diego Sheriff's Department was not part of the suit and has been releasing cases pursuant to SB1421, according to sheriff's department Lt. Karen Stubkjaer.Scott retired from the sheriff’s department on March 22, 2013, before the investigation into the missing church money was complete according to the documents. No charges were ever made against Scott.Other court filings suggest Scott might have been facing financial problems at the time.10News reached out to the church for comment. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — New data released by the San Diego County Office of Education show three-fourths of all K-12 students in the County are now studying online and experts believe that number will increase by the start of the new year.Poway parent, Caroline Epps, told her three children recently that they would be going back to virtual learning."I could tell they were disappointed," Epps said. "It's been nice having them there even though it's been such a short time. It's going to be a little difficult having them at home the whole day again."Poway Unified is one of the few school districts that are still offering modified in-person instruction, only to elementary students. But earlier this week, the district announced they would be recommending all students to revert to distance learning after winter break."My oldest will have the most difficult time with that because her assignments are more complex," Epps said.The decision comes after another surge in COVID-19 cases. Bob Mueller with the County Office of Education says 75% of K-12 students are now learning remotely, up from 68% last month."We are seeing the impact of gatherings for Thanksgiving," Mueller said. "It's likely that we will see the surge deepen for a time as we feel the impact of gatherings for the December holidays."School staff getting sick or having to quarantine are resulting in a serious staffing shortage."We are seeing unprecedented demand for substitutes," Mueller said. We need more people to work in those roles than we've ever needed before."Epps says while it is not ideal, she understands the situation. So she and her children will have to adapt and overcome."I don't think anyone wants the school year to be the way it has been," Epps said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Police say they have made an arrest in connection with a deadly shooting in the Midway District during a meeting set up on social media.San Diego Police arrested 18-year-old Angel Garcia of San Diego on Wednesday and charged him in the murder of Eduardo Salguero, 18, of San Diego, on Nov. 25.Police say Salguero had arranged to purchase an item through Snapchat and met for the transaction behind several businesses in the 3600 block of Midway Dr. When he arrived, two Hispanic males entered his vehicle. During the meeting, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and the transaction turned into an armed robbery.RELATED: Midway District shooting victim killed during Snapchat transaction, police sayMultiple gunshots were fired inside the vehicle before the two suspects fled. Salguero was taken to a nearby hospital but died of his injuries.Both suspects were described the suspects as Hispanic males, between 20-30 years old, who were wearing dark clothing at the time.
