BEIJING, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Revised regulations on internal management, discipline and formation regulation of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) are issued Thursday to further advance the army's development and modernization.Chinese President Hu Jintao, also Chairman of China's Central Military Commission, recently signed an order to promulgate and enforce the three regulations.Unlike the previous version, the revised regulation on internal management adopted provisions on psychological counselling to armymen and provisions on their use of mobile phones and the Internet.It also modified a wide range of provisions covering oath, dress and bearings, as well as confidentiality rules, security systems and financial management.The three revised regulations are to come into force from June 15 this year.

NINGBO, Zhejiang, May 16 (Xinhua) -- European customers benefit from Chinese exports and all parties should work to build a fair, level playing field in international trade, said a senior official of the European Commission in an exclusive interview with Xinhua here on Sunday."We are working to create a level playing field which gives opportunity, diversified choices and good prices to our customers," said Neelie Kroes, Vice President of the European Commission, the executive arm of the European Union, in a forum on the sidelines of the Expo 2010 in Shanghai.Kroes said international trade was a bit comparable to road traffic. "Most of us respect the rules of the game, but if one or two are not respecting the rules and the red lights, there will be an accident," she said.In the case of China-EU trade relations, "most of the parties in the games are respecting the rules, and only one percent is not taking the rules into account, and that is the subject that we called anti-dumping," she said.Recently, China-EU trade relations were marred by a dispute over imports of certain Chinese-made shoes with EU ministers voting last December to extend import duties on Chinese shoes for another 15 months.Earlier last month, the European Commission rejected a complaint by China to the World Trade Organization that EU's anti-dumping tariffs on imports of Chinese shoes breached WTO rules."Making shoes is a traditional skill of my village and we are good at making shoes. The 27-member EU is China's biggest trade partner. China is the EU's second-biggest trade partner and is its biggest source of imports.China's main exports to Europe are machinery and domestic goods, including clothes and shoes. KABUL, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Two Chinese hostages who have been held by Afghan militants for over three months were released Saturday, the Chinese embassy said here Sunday.Yin Juming, the embassy charge d'affaires, told Xinhua that the two Chinese nationals working with the China Railway 14 Bureau were set free by the militants in western Afghanistan's Faryab province.Zhang Fengqiang, an engineer, and Wu Yulin, a worker, were seized by militants who claimed to be Taliban insurgents on Jan. 16 enroute from the working site to the residence camp in the province, said the Chinese diplomat.The duo were awaiting the journey back to China to reunite with their families, he said.

BEIJING, June 2 (Xinhua) -- China's disaster relief authorities Wednesday launched an emergency response plan to help victims of the rainstorms and flooding in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, which has left at least 30 dead.The China National Committee for Disaster Reduction and the Ministry of Civil Affairs initiated a level IV emergency response plan and dispatched a working team to help guide relief work in the flood-hit zone.Heavy rains began pounding many places in Guangxi Monday and triggered landslides early Wednesday.
