Xi fully recognized the significance of the China-U.S. Track Two High-Level Dialogue and appreciated the positive role played by the U.S. delegates in deepening mutual understanding between the two countries.
On cultural and people-to-people exchanges, Xi called on the two sides to promote friendly sentiment between their peoples by enhancing cooperation in areas of media, culture, education, tourism and youth development.
During the visit, which marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, Xi met with his Singaporean counterpart Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
As China and Mongolia have reached consensus on conjoining China's Silk Road Economic Belt initiative with Mongolia's Steppe Road plan, Xi suggested the two governments discuss an agreement while pushing ahead with concrete projects.
The Chinese president also urged the two countries to increase high-level visits to jointly blueprint future cooperation.
