Nestlé Prepared Foods is recalling more than 92,000 pounds of its Lean Cuisine Baked Chicken frozen meals after receiving complaints from consumers finding plastic pieces in their meals. On Saturday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced the products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically white hard plastic pieces. The agency believes that the mashed potatoes used in the meal were contaminated with pieces of a plastic conveyor belt that broke during production.According to the press release, the products were produced and packaged on September 2, 2020, and shipped nationwide. The products bear the establishment number "EST.P-9018," which can be found on the side of the case near the lot number, the agency said. They have a best before date of October 2021.Although they have not received any reports of illness or injury, FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers' freezers.FSIS advises that if you have purchased the recall item, throw it away or return it to where you bought it. 1088

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- A Noblesville, Indiana woman says a trip to the spa with her daughters ended with a serious infection and a long stay at the hospital.Jennifer White said she got the pedicure nearly two weeks ago at “Nails and Lounge” in Noblesville.Over the next two days, White said she noticed her foot start swelling and turning purple and decided to go to the emergency room. She was admitted to the hospital last Tuesday with a severe infection and she’s been there for nearly a week.“I was worried I could possibly lose my toe. I could lose my foot,” said White. “I’m out of work … all for that 35 minutes of getting a pedicure.”White says the doctors tell her that the scrapings on her foot probably caused a small incision which allowed an infection to enter her foot.“I’m still here and they’re saying it’s due to the fact that I went to the nail salon… unclean, unsanitary and it’s made the infection settle in my foot,” said White.According to the Indiana Administrative Code, the use of razor devices to shave, reduce or remove calluses or corns is prohibited at spas in the state.Nails and Lounge’s manager says they did not use any prohibited devices and that they sanitize and dispose of all tools according to state law. She says they also bleach the pedicure tubs after each use, but have ordered plastic liners for each tub because of this experience. The spa manager denies that their pedicure caused the infection but says they are open to working with White to pay for her medical bills.  1525

NEW YORK (AP) — It's clear where many of President Donald Trump's supporters who didn't show up for his campaign rally in Oklahoma last Saturday were instead. They were watching on television. Fox News Channel, which carried the rally live, had the biggest Saturday night audience in the network's 24-year history. CNN and MSNBC only took clips of the speech but covered the event, and doubled their normal Saturday audiences. News continues to dominate viewing in the absence of live sports or original scripted programming. Fox News Channel had a higher prime-time average last week than any other network, broadcast or cable. 636

NEW YORK (AP) — A new federal report shows vaping rates among U.S. teenagers fell dramatically this year. The drop comes in the wake of last year's outbreak of vaping-related illnesses and deaths. The national survey found that just under 20% of high school students and 5% of middle schools students were recent users of electronic cigarettes and other vaping products. That marks a big decline from a similar survey last year that found about 28% of high school students and about 11% of middle school students recently vaped. That's a decline of about 1.8 million teens total. The survey was done by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They looked at survey data from middle school and high school students, grades 6-12.Despite the progress in lowering the number of teens using e-cigarettes, there are 3.6 million youth who currently use them. Of those, almost 83% use flavored e-cigarettes or vaping products. In addition to the survey, the FDA announced their premarket review requirement of tobacco products to ensure they go through a “robust scientific evaluation” before hitting store shelves. 1156

NEW YORK CITY — Protests erupted in the Borough Park neighborhood of Brooklyn’s for a second night Wednesday over New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's new restrictions on schools, businesses and houses of worship in the New York City "cluster zones" that are seeing an uptick in coronavirus cases. Some residents in those "cluster zones" have said the state is unfairly targeting Orthodox Jewish communities as it tries to stamp out hot spots before they spread.Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio have insisted the new restrictions are based solely on science and data around coronavirus-case clusters.Demonstrations turned violent Wednesday night when a journalist was allegedly attacked by a group of protesters he said surrounded him and kicked and hit him.Jacob Kornbluh, who identified himself as a reporter for jewishinsider.com, said hundreds of community members attacked him, calling him a "nazi" and "Hitler." 928
