And you’re trying to do the right thing, you’re wearing a mask and you’re indoors, so it’s going to be just an unbelievable, worrisome time,” said Bryan Welch, general manager of the Point Loma Sports Club.Welch said the new restrictions will not have a significant impact on his gym because the Point Loma Sports Club had already moved 90% of its operations outside. But he said he empathizes with gyms that do not have usable outdoor space or a cooperative landlord.Even some gym owners that can move outside may not choose to do so. They say limits would force them to operate at an untenable loss, leaving them to choose between operating indoors in violation of public health orders or going out of business. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Just in time for the San Diego Zoo's reopening this month, a recent animal addition will be making his debut.A 2-month-old male pygmy hippopotamus, named Akobi, and his mother, Mabel, have been moved from the park's maternity habitat to the main pygmy hippo habitat in the Lost Forest area of the zoo.Akobi, born on April 9 and the first success pygmy hippo birth at the zoo in more than 30 years, stayed close to his mom once introduced to the habitat. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — It may sound like a scene out of "Jurassic Park," but you'll soon be able to check out more than 70 life-like dinosaurs from your car at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.Jurassic Quest Drive-Thru is bringing back the popular event with a twist, introducing visitors to a drive-thru display of animatronic dinos at the fairgrounds from Jan. 1 to 10 next year.From their vehicles, guests will experience the massive models — from a Tyrannosaurus rex to Triceratops to 50-foot Megalodon — roaring and moving in realistic displays as they drive through the tour. An audio tour guide will lead guests through the hour-long tour.Organizers say attendees will have limited contact, if any, with staff on-site, and that state and local coronavirus precautions will be taken.Tickets start at per vehicle, with the option for "dinosaur surprise" add-ons.
