Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez won her first bid for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday in New York's 14th congressional district.Ocasio-Cortez defeated Republican John C. The foam was so large, a dog became lost in it and several people had to jump in to find the animal.A weatherman for 7News in Australia was on the beach ready to do a live report on the wild weather, when a woman is seen on camera jumping into the foam shouting “Hazel!”Weatherman Paul Burt dropped his microphone and is seen walking over to the woman and joining the search for her pet, Hazel.The search was successful and Hazel was soon back in the arms of her owner.The eastern coast of Australia is being battered right now as a powerful storm moves through the area. Some areas of Queensland saw about 7 inches of rain on Sunday, and wind gusts around 60 mph. 806

President Trump may be finding pockets of support from inside the very state he's suing.It's because a growing number of local governments are considering joining the administration's fight against California's new sanctuary laws.One of those laws prohibits state and local authorities from notifying federal immigration when they arrest an undocumented immigrant. There are exceptions for serious and violent crimes. Escondido Mayor Sam Abed opposes the sanctuary laws, and hopes his City Council will do the same and file a legal brief in support of the federal suit. The council meets April 4. "We have deported so many gang members because of our coordination with ice, and we'd like to continue to do that," abed said. RAMONA, CA (KGTV) -- Thanks to the San Diego Humane Society's Project Wildlife, an orphaned mountain lion pup has a second chance at life. The Humane Society acquired the Fund for Animals Wildlife Center in Ramona on September 1st, and the very next day, the 12 week old mountain lion pup was their very first patient."We got a call from California Fish and Wildlife," says Project Wildlife Director Andy Blue. "That a firefighter had found a mountain lion cub in distress up near Idyllwild."The female cub was found semi-conscious, extremely emaciated, and dehydrated."When she first arrived here in Ramona, she appeared to be in pretty bad shape, and I wasn't sure she was going to survive."That's when the Project Wildlife team stepped in and provided the cub life saving treatment."We immediately gave her critical care supplies, got a diet syringe fed to her, and did everything we needed to do to turn it around."And a little over a month later, with the great care from Project Wildlife, Blue says the cub is expected to make a full recovery. "Now she is completely stable and will most likely be going to another facility in Arizona." You might think that once animals have rehabbed, they would be let back out into the wild.. Well that's not always the case.""Because she's had so much human contact, we really can't release her back into the wild. Our goal is to rehab animals and release them back into the wild, but in her case, it's not a good idea."The plan is to relocate the lion cub to a facility in Arizona by next week. 1548
