We thought it was so delicious, we turned it into this one-of-a-kind creation just for you. Straight from the wonder vault. Enjoy!"They also sent her a small packet with two cherry cola flavored Oreo cookies inside."It is pretty good,” Young said. “I tried it.”Young was on cloud nine.The contest states all finalists are awarded ,000. And it states the person who submits the winning flavor will win 0,000.“I, from what I can tell, was the first person to tweet that idea," Young said.But then, for Young, the contest turned sour. Oreo stopped communicating with her. Months went by and in December, she saw her cookie on store shelves.“I reached out to them and I said, 'I'm seeing that my cookie won," Young said.Oreo finally responded saying in part, cherry cola was already in development — so it wasn't her idea, it was theirs."That's not cool," Young said. "If they claim that they already had it in their back pocket, then they don't need to provide prizes to anyone."Oreo and its parent company did not respond to a request for comment. LOS ANGELES (CNS) - An initiative to split California into three states has received enough signatures to qualify for the November ballot, its author said Wednesday.Venture capitalist Tim Draper said backers of what he has dubbed "CAL 3" would submit petitions with more than 600,000 signatures to election officials next week. The initiative needs signatures from 365,880 registered voters - five percent of the total votes cast for governor in the 2014 election - to qualify for the ballot."This is an unprecedented show of support on behalf of every corner of California to create three state governments that emphasize representation, responsiveness, reliability and regional identity," Draper said.   Splitting California into three states would require congressional approval. One proposed state would be called California or a name to be chosen by its residents after a split. It would consist of Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Monterey and San Benito counties. A second state, Southern California or a name to be chosen by its residents, would consist of Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Imperial, Kern, Kings, Fresno, Tulare, Inyo, Madera and Mono counties.   The remaining 40 counties would be part of the state of Northern California or a name chosen by its residents.   Draper said he conceived the initiative out of a belief that "the citizens of the whole state would be better served by three smaller state governments while preserving the historical boundaries of the various counties, cities and towns."   Steven Maviglio, a longtime Democratic Party political consultant who was a co-chair of the effort to oppose Draper's 2014 initiative to split California into six states, told City News Service, "Splitting California into three and creating three new governments does nothing to solve our state's challenges other than tripling them." "CAL 3'' has no connection to efforts to have California succeed from the United States. 2050

LOS ANGELES (KGTV) - Surveillance video released by the Los Angeles Police Department shows a violent taco truck robbery that left a worker with injuries.Three men entered the truck as it was parked on West Manchester Ave. in South Los Angeles around 3 a.m. on July 14.Police said the men forced the workers to the ground and demanded cash.One worker was pistol-whipped during the hold-up. There is no word on his condition.The suspects were not able to gain access to the safe in the taco truck. They took the workers’ cell phones and cash before leaving, investigators said.Los Angeles Police said the men were last seen running from the location with the victims’ property. They were described as in their 20s with no distinctive physical features.Anyone with information was asked to call the LAPD. 810

LOS ANGELES (KGTV) - A fruit vendor who was severely beaten while preparing for his work day in Los Angeles is having surgery for his injuries Monday.Pedro Daniel Reyes, 54, was approached by a group in two cars in downtown Los Angeles Sunday at 5 a.m. at 31st and San Pedro Streets, according to Los Angeles Police.The group demanded Reyes' money and that of another street vendor, the LAPD said.Reyes gave the men his money but they attacked him, leaving him with facial fractures, a broken jaw, and a slashed throat, said Reyes' stepson John Patrick.A GoFundMe page said Reyes, who is from Oaxaca, Mexico, works as a roofer six days a week and sells fruit on Sundays. Reyes’ recovery is expected to take at least six months, Patrick said.Two other victims received minor injuries.Los Angeles Police believe the attackers are four black men between 25 and 40 years old, and a black woman about 25 years old. 937
