(KGTV) -- The controversial immigrant caravan is inching it's way closer to the San Diego border, with at least 132 people already in Tijuana. Many of the migrants plan to walk across the pedestrian bridge in San Ysidro and turn themselves in to the customs officers. The group of more than 600 has ridden trains and walked for miles to get to the United States - Mexico border.  Enrique Morones and his team - known as Border Angels - are sending supplies to Tijuana. "The Border Angels have been very supportive, we've had people on the caravan, we have been collecting items for the caravan," he said. "These people that are coming on a caravan are escaping a situation in their country that they're seeking refuge from. Let's welcome that stranger. Give me your poor, your tired your huddled masses."Jorge Nieto, a journalist following the immigrants' journey, says they have been arriving in Tijuana in small groups - 50 to 100 at a time.Nieto was told that once the whole group is together, they'll cross all at once. The caravan hasn't been without controversy.President Trump tweeted this week, saying he instructed the secretary of homeland security to keep the large caravan out of the U.S., and asked Mexico to keep the immigrants from going through the Country. RELATED: Migrant caravan heads to US-Mexico border "They're trying to escape something. Either hunger or violence or some sort of a war that's going on," Nieto said. "One of the reasons that they go in caravans is there's a power in groups. A 24-year-old man was tricked into giving up his personal possessions late Saturday night in Detroit.Police say he was in the area of Cadillac Square and Randolph Street approached by two men who identified themselves as police officers, despite not showing badges or ID cards. No jurisdiction was claimed.The suspects reportedly acted as if they were talking on the radio, and one of them stated he was part of a "sting," asking the victim to surrender his cash, cell phone and credit cards.The victim said he had just smoked narcotics. (KGTV) - Three San Diego residents were shot to death during a weekend of violence in Tijuana.Multiple Tijuana-based news services said a triple homicide was reported on the morning of Nov. 25 in front of a building in the Lomas Verdes housing complex. When the bodies were found, they each had gunshot wounds to the head.According to news outlet Punto Norte, investigators believe the three people killed were taken from an apartment at gunpoint, forced to kneel and then shot.10News spoke to 23-year-old Katheryn Garcia. She told us her cousin, 17-year-old Christopher Alexis Gomez was among the three people shot to death. Garcia said her cousin is a senior at O'Farrell Charter School (OCS) in Encanto. She said he was a proud starting Lineman for the school's new football team. Last week, Gomez told Garcia that he was going to a barbecue party in Ensenada on Friday with his friend, 18-year-old Juan Suarez Ojeda. Dr. Jonathan Dean, the Superintendent at OCS, told 10News Ojeda wasa recent O'Farrell Charter graduate, class of 2018. Garcia said she has never met the third victim, but knew the teen was Ojeda's friend who lived in Tijuana.Garcia said the three were tortured, likely in a different location, before being shot execution style.Garcia said her family are now left with more questions than answers. Why would Christopher, a boy who had never been in trouble, be killed? Was this a case of mistaken identity? Was he at the wrong place at the wrong time? Who would do this?“They’re monsters. Who does that to three young boys who had their whole life ahead of them," Garcia said in tears.
