Now you might.Topeka, the state capital, is offering potential new residents up to ,000 to move there.A pilot program called "Choose Topeka" will match employer funds put up for people who move to Topeka and live and work there for a year, city and Shawnee County economic development groups announced Thursday. Jay Inslee on Wednesday announced he is suspending his presidential campaign.Inslee made the announcement during an interview on MSNBC.The Washingtonian made combating climate change the fundamental issue motivating his campaign, routinely telling reporters that the climate crisis affects "every issue" facing the country. With that in mind, he released a series of plans that tied the issue to everything from foreign policy to the economy to labor laws.But the governor failed to gain traction in the race to take on President Donald Trump. While the governor did recently reach the donor threshold to qualify for the third Democratic national debate, he had yet to reach the polling threshold and was therefore unlikely to qualify.Inslee was on the trail until the final days of his campaign. DJ Kashief Hamilton says he was playing music on a cruise ship dock at St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands when he heard a loud scream. The DJ stopped the party.He says he saw people running, including friend Randolph Donovan, with whom he works as an entertainer for visitors to the island.The 34-year-old Donovan jumped about 10 feet down off the dock into the ocean. A young woman in a wheelchair was sinking."I got her out of her wheelchair," Donovan told CNN.
