CLEVELAND — Nadine and Robert Proe said facing a 2009 bankruptcy wasn't easy, but now 14 years later, they are still left with an unexpected ,000 demolition bill from the City of Cleveland.Robert Proe showed WEWS the documents proving he signed over his Cleveland home to EMC Mortgage when he filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, and said he heard almost nothing about his former home until it was demolished in 2016.Nadine Proe said neighbors were telling them the house was going downhill shortly after they moved out."It was heartbreaking because it was a good house," Robert Proe said. "Apparently it was vandalized, we never got any notice from the police. "I thought I no longer owned the home, I was told I couldn't go on the property, while the bank ran it into the ground.""Now I'm faced with this huge bill that wasn't my fault."WEWS attempted to reach EMC Mortgage about this case but all three company phone numbers had been disconnected.Cleveland Housing Court Judge Ron O'Leary told WEWS there are some efforts being made to change state law, making it more difficult for banks to file a foreclosure and then file to vacate that motion when it believes the finances aren't favorable.O'Leary warned homeowners going through bankruptcy to keep a close watch on county property records as the bank continues to sell the home to another owner. "I can (see) where people would look at this and say it's not fair," O'Leary said. "People that do housing policy that are looking at whether or not any changes to the law need to be done."O'Leary said his court is trying to better educate homeowners in foreclosure.Still, former homeowners like the Proes believe changes in state law are needed."Well I'm here to tell you the system is broke, it's not going to be fine," Robert Proe said. Entrepreneur Kevin O'Leary, who is best known for his appearance in the hit TV show "Shark Tank," was involved in a night time boating accident that left two people dead, his agent told CNN.The incident happened over the weekend in Ontario, Canada.O'Leary was a passenger in a boat when it collided with another, his agent Jay Sures said.Sures told CNN that O'Leary's wife, Linda, was driving at the time.The collision left a man in the second boat dead, said Joe Scali, spokesman for the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police. A woman in the second boat succumbed to her injuries Tuesday, police said. A passenger in O'Leary's boat was also injured.Police say three other boaters were injured, and were treated and released from a local hospital.No charges have been filed.Linda O'Leary was given a DUI test, which she passed, according to O'Leary's agent.Asked for comment, Sures directed CNN to a statement O'Leary provided to TMZ.It said, "Late Saturday night I was a passenger in a boat that had a tragic collision with another craft that had no navigation lights on and then fled the scene of the accident. DETROIT, Michigan — John Lind is a veteran and military historian who is about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime.It’s a jump in honor of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, when allied forces, including the U.S. stormed the beaches of Normandy to eradicate Adolf Hitler’s control.Lind is among more than 200 parachutists handpicked from all over the world to do the jump in England. They will commemorate the landings that happened on D-Day (the beginning of the end of World War II).“The didn’t have to do it. They stopped Europe from being oppressed and brought liberty and freedom back to Europe,” Lind said of the day the troops landed in Normandy.Lind is the director of the Detroit Arsenal of Democracy Museum and has completed 165 other jumps, but he’s been training for this next feat for two years.“You’ll see waves of C-47 coming across the channel, 30 to 40 aircraft coming across,” he said. “They’ll be dropping 10 men in groups of three. Craig Brewer was at a Waffle House in Gainesville, Florida, at nearly 3 in the morning Sunday, not far from the University of Florida campus.He was in a generous mood, walking from table to table and picking up the tab for customers' late-night meals. He handed others a bill. It wasn't the first time he's paid for strangers' meals at Waffle House, his cousin, Deborah Jenkins, told CNN.Jenkins said that the father of two was raising people's spirits early that morning and someone even posted a Snapchat video of Brewer tipping the waiters.Meanwhile, the Waffle House was getting crowded with people coming by after the nearby bars closed. Things started getting unruly, Alachua County Sheriff's Office spokesman Brett Rhodenizer told CNN, and someone called 911 to have officers settle down the crowd.Then Brewer, 41, spoke to one woman about paying for her meal, and the conversation turned sour.Another of Brewer's cousins, Rasheeda Davis, was with Brewer at the Waffle House. Davis told CNN the woman arguing with Brewer "said she would spit in his face." Davis added, "It was all petty," noting that the situation didn't appear to be extreme.But a man, Ezekiel Hicks, was with the woman arguing with Brewer, according the police report.
