Yet, the problem goes beyond prison walls.It can be a lonely road for inmates after they have served their time and are released back into the community. Part of what the bill hopes to address is what happens with their mental health since many of them report they don’t have health insurance to get their needed medication.About 80 percent of inmates released lack health insurance, and those that do have it, often wait an average of 48 days to get an appointment at a behavioral clinic.To fill in that gap, among other things, the bill would allocate million a year for five years towards programs that strengthen the link between law enforcement and community mental health providers.“Unfortunately, in many places, there is no alternative,” Ingoglia said. “This bill, these new grant programs that it's seeking to create, would try to give more options to communities.”It’s a bill whose future now lies in the hands of the U.S. House of Representatives. 1861

Nearly a month later, a man who confessed to pursuing her as she ran on a country road led authorities to the field where a body believed to be hers was buried under corn stalks, officials said Tuesday.While authorities have yet to confirm the body is hers, they arrested Cristhian Bahena Rivera, 24, on first-degree murder charges.Rivera, who's an undocumented immigrant, told investigators he saw her and got out of his car. An Idaho couple is now facing more charges in connection with the disappearance and deaths of two children.Chad Daybell now faces four felony charges for evidence destruction or concealment. Lori Vallow Daybell is facing two counts of conspiracy to commit destruction, alteration or concealment of evidence, according to the iCourt Portal, in addition to other charges.The new charges come after Rexburg police served a search warrant at Chad Daybell’s Salem, Idaho home on Monday. Officers went into the house, exterior buildings, and were seen in the backyard with cameras. They left with brown evidence bags but it is not known if the search is tied to the new charges of conspiracy.
