LA JOLLA, Calif. (KGTV) - San Diego photographers, mark your calendars for Scrippshenge. Named for the ancient British site Stonehenge, where the sun lines up among ancient stones on the solstice, the sun lines up with the gap in La Jolla’s Scripps Institution of Oceanography pier on certain days of the year. The natural phenomenon makes for spectacular photos. This summer, Scrippshenge is set to take place August 7 - 9, according to the Photo Ephemeris app. “You might even get the shot on Aug 10/11 also, probably with a partially set sun,” says Stephen Trainor of Crookneck Apps. “You'll see the sunset line is ever so slightly to the north of the pier center: that's what you need, because sunset is the moment the sun disappears below the horizon, hence in order to frame the setting sun between the legs of the pier, it still needs to be just above the horizon, and therefore true sunset has to be just slightly to the north,” says Trainor. LAS VEGAS — A Las Vegas family is living in fear after two men broke in while their teenage daughter hid in a bedroom closet.17-year-old Maxeen is still shook up after what happened inside her home near Cactus and Interstate 15 on Saturday.“It sucks to just be alone and I’ve never been in a situation like that,” she said.Maxeen said she was home alone Saturday when someone started ringing the doorbell repeatedly around 2:30 p.m.Maxeen felt something was wrong, and that’s when she says a man showed up in the backyard breaking in through the sliding glass door.“I tried to call my mom but she was at work, so I kind of ran upstairs and I knew he was going to come to the back,” the teen said.Maxeen dialed 911 and hid in one of the closets in a bedroom.The home’s interior surveillance camera shows two men running up the stairs where Maxeen was hiding.Maxeen’s mom is thankful her daughter is OK, but says this frightening ordeal has hit the entire family.“We’re very disturbed right now,” Maxeen's mother, Barbara, said. “It feels like it’s not real, but it is. So we got affected by it and everyone is so scared.”The family said the burglars actually left their getaway ride outside the home when they left.They took a picture of it and hope that vehicle will lead police to the two.  1309

LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) - A peace officer claims he was profiled by Walmart employees Wednesday.Johnny Aguirre says he and his wife went to the Walmart in La Mesa and he was carrying a backpack that he usually carries with him. There are items he carries in his backpack that are related to his job as a peace officer. “We walked in, and I got stopped by two greeters, they told me to put the backpack away int he lockers,” he said.Aguirre says the lockers were empty, so it was standard for all customers. He also says he noticed other people were walking around the store with backpacks.He believes employees singled him out because of the way he looked.“I got that feeling that I was profiled and racially discriminated because of the way I was dressed maybe,” he said. He says he was working all day and he was a little dirty.Walmart sent the following statement to 10News: “We do not tolerate discrimination of any kind. As a company, we’ve taken several steps to help mitigate the issue of crime and the locker system implemented in our Las Mesa store is just one example of our proactive approach. Lawyers for President Donald Trump recently provided the special counsel's office with documents in an attempt to limit the scope of an interview between Trump and special counsel Robert Mueller, The Washington Post reported Monday.Two people familiar with the situation told the Post that Trump's attorneys are worried that the President could get into trouble during a lengthy interview with the special counsel, and therefore provided "written descriptions" of moments under investigation to limit some of the questioning.News of the attempt by Trump's attorneys came after a weekend where the President railed repeatedly?against the Russia investigation, implying the special counsel team is politically biased against him and saying the probe itself should never have begun.Additionally, John Dowd, a lawyer for Trump, said in a statement?on Saturday that he prayed Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein would end the investigation. And sources told CNN on Monday that Trump is expected to hire Joseph diGenova, an attorney who has claimed people in the Justice Department and FBI are trying to frame the President.The comments prompted warnings from some Republicans, and despite further warnings about the consequences of trying to force an end to the probe, lawmakers?played down the need to take up special legislation to protect Mueller from the President.The Post cited one person as saying Trump has told aides he is "champing at the bit" for an interview with the special counsel.Trump?said in January that he wanted to speak, under oath, with Mueller, and Dowd said shortly after the comment that he would be the one to decide if the President would do so.CNN reported last month that Trump still wanted to sit for an interview with Mueller, despite concerns from his attorneys. LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) -- La Mesa, El Cajon, Poway, Santee and other local cities are among San Diego County cities to enforce a curfew Sunday night. A curfew will begin at 7 p.m. on May 31 and end at 7 a.m. on June 1 for the City of La Mesa. During that time, the city encouraged residents and visitors to shelter in place. The order was issued following a city council meeting at 9 a.m. Sunday. La Mesa's curfew will also be in effect from Monda at 7 p.m. to Tuesday at 5:30 a.m.National City has also imposed a curfew saying: "This curfew will be in effect starting today, May 31 from 8pm until tomorrow, June 1 at 5:30am. This means no one should be out in public on the streets in National City after 8pm.
