He lauded the successful launch of a Lao communication satellite with a Chinese carrier rocket on Nov. 21 at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province, as well as the formal start of the construction of the China-Laos railway on Wednesday, saying they are the manifestation of achievements made in bilateral relations.
Meanwhile, Xi pointed out that China and ASEAN face an important opportunity to develop relations.

The Chinese leader added that China stands ready to maintain communication and coordination with Comoros in major global and regional issues such as climate change, 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Indian Ocean Rim issues, so as to jointly safeguard the interests of the developing countries.
Noting that better connectivity will increase the potential in economic and social development, Xi recalled that the APEC members inked last year in Beijing an agreement on enhancing physical, institutional and people-to-people connections by 2025.
