A request from children is changing the future of LEGO kits. The company announced they will be phasing out their single-use plastic bags used to separate parts of their kits beginning next year.“We have received many letters from children about the environment asking us to remove single-use plastic packaging. We have been exploring alternatives for some time and the passion and ideas from children inspired us to begin to make the change,” stated CEO Niels Christiansen in a company release.The toymaker has set a goal of making all of their packaging sustainable by the end of 2025. Beginning in 2021, they will look at using recyclable paper bags in their kits.Testing has already taken place, and LEGO says kids liked the paper bags because they were environmentally friendly and easy to open.Other LEGO products will be getting an environmentally friendly makeover in the future, too. A new medical device promises to diagnose a concussion in under four minutes and its creators are backed by a unique partnership between the NFL's Green Bay Packers and Microsoft.The world of traumatic brain injuries and concussions is filled with gray matter. The diagnosis is subjective and every doctor manages it differently as the injury is just as complex as the brain.“When you have a heart attack and go into the ER, you get five objective tests. If you get a brain injury and you go into the ER, you get, ‘Follow my finger, what month is it, who’s the president?’ We have to do better for brain-injured patients,” Dr. Rosina Samadani, CEO of Oculogica, said.Samadani developed a device called the "Eye Box.” Her sister, a neurosurgeon, discovered the technology.“Where it really came from was noticing that when there’s a deficit in the cranial nerves, there is a deficit in eye movements and there is that same deficit that occurs in concussed patients.,” Samadani said.So, she created an algorithm based on those eye movements, which is how the Eye Box was born.“We’re looking at your pupils, we’re tracking them and having you perform a simple task,” Samadani said. “You watch a video as it moves around the screen and we watch your eyes watching that video and that’s it.”The sisters took the idea to TitletownTech.“We look for exceptional founders who are solving meaningful problem,” said Jill Enos, the managing director of TitletownTech.The venture capital fund builds and invests in startups.“TitletownTech was formed out of this improbable partnership between the Green Bay packers and Microsoft, both of whom shared a common interest in advancing the technology capabilities of the region but also in leveraging the strength of startups and founders as economic drivers in the regional economy,” Enos said.Enos says Oculogica immediately caught their attention. A Pennsylvania man is facing criminal charges for allegedly requesting and casting ballots for dead relatives.The Delaware County District Attorney announced the charges against Bruce Bartman Monday.“We are charging him today with two counts of perjury for making false statements to register two deceased individuals who are his relatives both his mother and his mother-in-law. He made false statements through the state’s assure system to register them as voters and he’s also charged with making an unlawful vote because he actually submitted an absentee ballot for his deceased mother, a ballot that was counted,” District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer said at a press conference.Stollsteimer says both women were registered as Republicans and Bartman told investigators he had done so to help reelect Donald Trump.Bartman reportedly used the driver’s license number for his mother, who died more than a decade ago, and was able to obtain a ballot.Prosecutors say he used his mother-in-law’s social security number to register her for the general election, and the system returned a deceased record for her prompting the state to send a confirmation letter to the address to confirm the information, according to WPVI.Stollsteimer’s office says Bartman falsified this confirmation letter and returned it to register his mother-in-law to vote. He did not obtain a ballot in her name, according to prosecutors.“In his political frustration, he chose to do something stupid,” Bartman’s lawyer, Samuel Stretton told the Philadelphia Inquirer. “And for that he is very sorry.”Stollsteimer said there was no evidence of widespread voter fraud in Delaware County and this was the only case of voter fraud during this election his office has encountered. However, they have had scores of leads investigators have followed up on.Investigators said rumors on social media about a dead voter in Delaware County led to a complaint filed with the county’s Board of Elections. It’s when family members in different houses or close friends agree to socialize in person, but only with each other to limit the risk of infection.“So, when you join a bubble, you're taking on additional risk and the amount of risk you're taking on is that difference between you and the person with the highest risk in the group,” said Cyrus Shahpar, an epidemiologist with Resolve to Save Lives. “So, it’s important to be vigilant and trust those in the bubble.”Part of a support bubble agreement is that everyone practices the same things outside the bubble, including not forming other bubbles. You should also agree to how long the bubble will last. Obviously, the less people, the lower the risk.It’s also a good strategy for families that need help with things like childcare or taking care of an aging relative.Even professional sports teams and other businesses are somewhat following this theory, setting up things like safe hotels and doing things like testing anyone that comes in.“Then, you tell them they can’t leave the place and inside have to be careful about interaction, then you could theoretically say that’s a safer place than outside the hotel,” said Shahpar.Support bubbles could also help limit virus spread even if someone inside the group were to get the virus, because you already know who the close contacts are.“As we navigate through uncharted waters, we don’t know what’s going to happen. A postal worker's union says that USPS employees were not involved in an incident that led to several unopened mail bags dumped in two separate locations in Glendale, California, last week.On Thursday, KTLA-TV in Los Angeles obtained surveillance footage that showed a Budget rental truck pulling into the parking lot of Glendale spa.That morning, at about 5:40 a.m. local time, the truck pulled into the parking lot of 7Q Spa Laser & Aesthetics and began pulling bags of unopened mail and packages out of the truck. The truck later pulled away, leaving the mail behind.About two hours after the truck initially pulled up at 7Q, the Glendale Police Department received a call about a second large pile of mail that was found in an alley about a half a mile away.It's unclear if the two instances are related. The Los Angeles Times reported Friday that the Glendale Police Department had opened investigations into the incidents.On Tuesday, Omar Gonzalez, the Western Regional Coordinator for the American Postal Workers Union, told CNN that the person caught on surveillance footage dumping mail was a "contractor," and not a USPS employee.It's unclear how the mail made it on to a Budget rental truck.
