(KGTV) -- A local woman has a warning about a man she says is a real charmer with a hidden agenda.Elizabeth, 23, says the man is a good-looking guy in his late 20s who was a Facebook friend for two years.  They had mutual friends in common but had never met.He messaged her recently, asking her out to a sushi lunch. She agreed, but during the drive, she says he fidgeted with his blinkers and asked her to exit the SUV to make sure they were working. She agreed, and that's when he took off, with her purse, wallet, and sunglasses.When she posted his photo on Facebook, she says she got a flood of responses: dozens of other women with similar stories of theft."One woman said, 'He told me he had a gift for me in the trunk, and as soon as I got out, he drove off with my purse and several hundred dollars,'" Elizabeth recalls. She says none of the women called police because the man told them he had friends in a cartel. She's hoping some of them will now come forward to stop the thief.    "He's not going to stop," Elizabeth said. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise has been released from a Washington, DC, hospital following a "successful" surgery, according to MedStar Washington Hospital Center.The hospital released a statement Saturday saying the Louisiana Republican was discharged from the hospital and "the planned surgery was successful." The congressman "will be recovering at home for the next several days," the statement added.The congressman's Twitter account also shared the statement. CNN reported earlier this month that Scalise was beginning a "series of planned, inpatient procedures" while continuing to recover from injuries he sustained in a shooting last year.Scalise suffered a gunshot wound last summer when a gunman opened fire at a congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia.In September, Scalise returned to Congress for the first time since the attack, saying at the time that he is "a living example that miracles really do happen."  957

HOUSTON (AP) — The Supreme Court has rejected a lawsuit backed by President Donald Trump to overturn Joe Biden's election victory, ending a desperate attempt to get legal issues rejected by state and federal judges before the nation's highest court. The court's order Friday was its second this week rebuffing Republican requests that it get involved in the 2020 election outcome. In a blog post, Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas said that Texas "has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections."
