A group of siblings are back together after being separated in foster care.A Texas couple with three biological children officially adopted the five siblings over a Zoom call in May, doubling the size of their family.Andi Bonura says she and her husband, Thomas, had been wanting to adopt after years of pregnancy issues. Their three existing children, Joey, Sadie and Daphne, were born premature. They also lost one child during a pregnancy and another died in the NICU.So, in 2017, the couple got licensed to become foster parents. Their first foster child was Bryson, who is now 2 years old. The couple then began fostering two of Bryson’s older siblings, David and Gabrielle.Eventually, the two final siblings, Thomas and Carter, started visiting the Bonura home and asked if they could also come live with them, according to Bonura.Bonura says that one day, she got a call saying their foster children’s biological parents were terminating their rights to the kids and they were given the option to adopt them. They said yes.Bonura says finally adopting the children was so freeing and felt wonderful.“We had been working so hard for years to get them all together, to bond as a family and it just feels so amazing to all of us, knowing we are a family, finally,” said Bonura.If you’re considering becoming a foster parent or adopting, Bonura says to do it if you can.“It will be the single most important and meaningful thing in your life,” she said. “The struggles to get to the place, your goal, is worth every tear. A limousine company and its owner are under scrutiny after a stretch limousine crashed in upstate New York killing 20 people.For unknown reasons, the 2001 Ford Excursion, operated by Prestige Limousine Chauffer Service, plowed through a stop sign and crashed into a parked SUV in Schoharie, New York, last Saturday. Seventeen passengers, who rented the limo for a 30th birthday party at a brewery, and two pedestrians were killed. The limo driver also died. A Florida man was charged with murder after detectives connected him to the suspicious death of his girlfriend.The investigation began Oct. 15 when Sarasota County deputies were called to a vehicle fire along I-75 in Osprey. When deputies arrived, they found a minivan with a deceased female inside.The driver, 34-year-old Michael Clark, told deputies he didn’t know how the fire began, how the female died or how he got to Sarasota.State investigators with the Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations determined the minivan was intentionally set on fire. They found a gas can inside the minivan and a lighter nearby.Further investigation by the Medical Examiner’s Office determined the victim’s cause of death was homicide caused by blunt force trauma.The investigation revealed that Clark drove his minivan to meet the victim at work on Oct. 14. A witness saw the two get into an argument. During which time, Clark was seen confronting the victim and the victim pushed him away. Clark then put the victim in a headlock, according to the arrest affidavit. The victim was last seen alive walking with Clark towards his minivan, her car never left the parking lot.Detectives determined Clark beat the victim to death before placing her in the back of the minivan, driving southbound along I-75, and eventually setting the vehicle on fire with the intent of destroying all evidence of his crimes. At the time of the incident, personnel seized Clark’s clothing for investigation and recovered a small amount of cocaine. He was transported to the hospital and later released while the investigation continued.On Thursday, Sarasota County detectives working in partnership with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office executed an arrest warrant and search warrant at Clark’s home.He was taken into custody and booked into the Orient Road Jail in Tampa. Sarasota County detectives charged Clark with Murder, Arson, Tampering with Evidence, and Possession of Cocaine. He remains in custody without bond.The victim was 34-year-old Kristen Kelley, Clark’s girlfriend of several years. The couple had three children in common. 2170

A Fort Hood soldier has been identified as the victim of a drowning in a Texas lake over the weekend.Officials say the body of Spc. Francisco Gilberto Hernandezvargas was recovered after a boating incident on Stillhouse Hollow Lake. The lake is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir on the Lampasas River, southwest of Belton. The 24-year-old, whose home of record is listed as Woodside, New York, entered the army in May 2017 as an automatic rifleman and has been assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division since December 2017.The Bell County Sheriff's Office was alerted that a male, while riding an inner tube behind a boat, went under water and did not surface on Saturday. This took place in the area of Dana Peak Park on Stillhouse Hollow Lake, according to officials.His body was recovered on Sunday.Hernandezvargas’ awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon and the Army Service Ribbon.“The Black Knight family is heartbroken by the loss of Spc. Francisco Hernandezvargas. Our hearts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time,” said Lt. Col. Neil Armstrong, commander of 1st Bn. 5th Cav. Regt. “Spc. Hernandezvargas served his country honorably both stateside while at Fort Hood and abroad in Korea and Romania and this tragic loss is felt by every member within our formation.”The unit is cooperating with local authorities as this incident is currently under investigation.The drowning marks the fourth death of a Fort Hood soldier in the past few months.
