FORT WORTH, Texas -- A baseball coach at Texas Wesleyan University who told a Colorado athlete that the university doesn't accept recruits from Colorado because of past issues with drug tests has been fired.University President Frederick Slabach said in a news conference Thursday morning that Mike Jeffcoat was fired because of the email he sent to the Colorado athlete as well as an unspecified NAIA rule violation."The comments Mike Jeffcoat made are in no way a reflection of our university or its values," Slabach said. "We do not tolerate discrimination."Because of an ongoing investigation, Slabach did not provide any details about the alleged rule violation, only saying it was related to the eligibility of players and not any kind of discrimination.Gavin Bell, a senior at Cherokee Trail High School in Aurora, expressed interest in attending Texas Wesleyan University in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and joining the school's baseball program, but was rejected in an email from Jeffcoat.That email read: "Thanks for the interest in our program. For families missing the big screen, Walmart is set to debut its drive-in movie tour this summer.In a release posted to their website, Walmart said it will be working with Tribeca Enterprises to transform 160 of its store parking lots into contact-free drive-in movie theaters."Beginning in August, Walmart will roll out this red carpet experience in towns across the country for a combined 320 showings," the company wrote. "This family-friendly night will include hit movies, special appearances from filmmakers and celebrities and concessions delivered right to customer vehicles."The drive-in tour will run through October. FLOYD COUNTY, Ind. -- The sheriff's department is investigating after vandals left anti-Semitic graffiti in several locations in Floyd County over the weekend. The Jewish Community Relations Council shared an image of the vandalism at the Azalea Hills retirement community Monday evening.“The JCRC condemns the anti-Semitic and homophobic vandalism perpetrated against the Azalea Hills retirement community in Floyd Knobs, Indiana,” the group said in a post on their page Tuesday.The Floyd County Sheriff told WHAS-TV that they believe a group of teens was responsible for the vandalism and they do not believe it was targeted at anyone in particular.That same night, deputies found damage to several other areas in town including anti-Semitic graffiti on a school bus, damaged mailboxes and an overturned sheriff’s department trailer.“It’s damage to personal property, that’s the issue,” Sheriff Frank Loop said. “It’s not about any kind of hate crimes or anything like that.”The vandalism at Azalea Hills was cleaned up by Tuesday afternoon. The incident comes just a month after anti-Semitic graffiti was found at a Carmel synagogue, prompting Indiana's Governor Eric Holcomb to push for a hate crime law in Indiana.
