SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — It's something many of us do in San Diego: We see a picturesque sunset. Rummage around for our phone and open up its camera. McKune's photo would slowly climb with interest: First being a photo of the day, then an "editor's pick.""It was really, really exciting," McKune says. And locals can help make sure it takes home the prize by voting on the Smithsonian's website here."I’m hoping to get at least the photo category," McKune said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — If you're single in San Diego, chances are you're not impressed by the dating field locally.At least according to Apartment List, which ranked 130 cities on their ability to provide singles with the best atmosphere. San Diego is, well, lukewarm according to the study.The city ranked 73 overall, right in the middle of the park and posting an overall score of 48 out of 100 possible points.RELATED: Love hurts: Price of a date in San Diego could cost you, study saysThe study ranked cities on their dating satisfaction, social satisfaction, dating affordability, and percentage of reported singles, using data from Apartment List’s Annual Renter Satisfaction Survey and Census Bureau American Community Survey 2017.When it broke down that way, only about 22% of respondents were satisfied with the dating in San Diego. How women and men feel about dating locally may give us an idea about why the city ranked where it did. About 17% of women and 35% of men were satisfied with dating here.Far more San Diegans, about 58%, were satisfied with their social lives in town. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Local San Diego County attractions announced Sunday that they will close as a stay-at-home order takes effect in Southern California.The restrictions for the region begin at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday.SeaWorld announced a temporary closure beginning December 7. The closure will remain until the region’s zoos are allowed to reopen, the amusement park said.“During this time, our veterinarians and animal care experts will continue to provide the animals that call SeaWorld San Diego home the same high level of care," SeaWorld said in a statement. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Life is changing on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, as dozens go into precautionary quarantine after exposure to COVID-19.The protocols you see around San Diego County are in effect on base, bringing the Health Protection Condition on base up to Level Bravo, according to Public Information Officer Capt.
