Kroger is making another big push into online groceries, this time by opening a digital business in China.America's largest grocery chain said Tuesday that it will start selling its Simple Truth-brand products on Alibaba's Tmall Global site.By partnering with Alibaba, Kroger can battle its biggest rivals on two fronts: It will expand its fledgling online business and will venture abroad for the first time. Jake, a coonhound, wandered a long way from his Arizona home -- more than 2,000 miles to be exact."We are just really baffled by it," said Renae Metz with A Darrah Bull Bully Rescue in Pennsylvania.A good Samaritan found the 7-year-old dog near a YMCA in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania about 100 miles east of Pittsburgh. When they scanned him for a microchip, they found one, and it came back registered to Phoenix."We thought maybe a truck driver possibly found Jake in the middle of the night and didn't know what to do with him and brought him home, but we don't know that that's a fact," Metz said.After finding the microchip, they made the phone call to Jake's owners."We have a 7-year-old coonhound here who is registered to you, are you missing your dog?" Metz asked the owners.It turns out they were, for the past year. Jake disappeared from their north Peoria home. Getting Jake back wouldn't be easy with a brand new baby, but Metz wasn't about to give up on getting the dog home."We have 20 different drivers, three overnights and a lot of stops for Jake," Metz laughed.Metz's sister is a transport coordinator for rescued animals. She used the power of Facebook to put out the call for help and arranged for his return.From Tennessee to Arkansas to Oklahoma to Texas and New Mexico, over the past three days, the volunteers took photos along the way. And then Monday afternoon, Jake was reunited with his owner in Holbrook. Click on the map below to follow the route the volunteers took to bring Jake home.Now Jake is back where he belongs and thanks to a lot of volunteers, pretty well-traveled.Metz said Companion Animal Hospital in Roaring Spring kept Jake from when he was found until he left for his trip home on Friday. A gaming expert says there was limited security.Gayle Dickie, CEO of Gamer World News, said these kinds of tournaments happen all over the world and all the time."This is horrifying, really," she said.The shots rang out on the second and final day of the Madden 19 Tournament. Players entered Chicago Pizza on the first floor of Jacksonville Landing and Dickie said there was little security, "It's unfortunate because it was a smaller event, I mean it wasn't a large event. If you go to events like the Barclay's Center or Staple's, you're going to go through a metal detector."Inside, gamers entered their own world, "it is probably the biggest quality of a gamer, to have that intense focus, so everybody was focused on gameplay." Dickie said that made it easy for 24-year-old David Katz to find his targets."It sounds like he knew who he was going after, so you know and you saw the two players sitting there. I saw the video and you can see them sitting there, and it didn't take him long, you know, obviously he knew what he was looking for," she said.Dickie said gamers can be as young as 12-years-old at these competitions."It's just shaken the core of the gamer community. No one would ever think that something like this would happen," she said.Dickie said the gaming world provides a place for everyone to find a niche community to which they belong. (KGTV) - The San Bernardino couple accused of keeping their children in unsanitary conditions pleaded not guilty Friday to three felony counts of child abuse, KABC reported.Mona Kirk, 51, and Daniel Panico, 73, appeared in Joshua Tree Superior Court.San Bernardino Sheriff’s deputies were checking the area near their home Wednesday afternoon and found a trailer that appeared to be abandoned. (AP) — A group recommending a new Mississippi state flag has chosen five final designs — three with a magnolia blossom, one with a magnolia tree and one with a shield that has wavy lines representing water. Mississippi legislators recently retired the last state flag with the Confederate battle emblem that’s condemned as racist. By law, the new design cannot have the Confederate emblem and must have “In God We Trust.” Mississippi was the 20th state, admitted into the Union in 1817, but the finalist designs have 21 stars to include the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians and other indigenous people.After getting hundreds of submissions, the flag comission narrowed the field to nine designs and asked the public to weigh in via an online vote. Commission Chairman Reuben Anderson noted Tuesday that more than 48,000 people voted, according to MississippiToday.com.“That shows Mississippians have a tremendous amount of interest in what we’re doing,” Anderson said. “We’re not going to disappoint them. We will put forth the greatest flag we can have.”The five final designs will be made into flags, and those will be flown Aug. 25 in Jackson.
