Cooled to negative 320 degrees, using liquid nitrogen cooled food has become a trendy and cool way of eating. But eating products so cold comes with risks. On Thursday, the FDA issued a warning for foods cooled by liquid nitrogen. The FDA says consuming products marketed as "Dragon’s Breath," "Heaven’s Breath," "nitro puff," among others could cause serious injury. Liquid nitrogen quickly freezes food, but even after the liquid has completely boiled into a gas, the extreme cold of the food and the displacement of oxygen could cause health concerns. "The FDA has become aware of severe -- and in some cases, life-threatening -- injuries, such as damage to skin and internal organs caused by liquid nitrogen still present in the food or drink," the FDA said in a statement. "There has also been a report of difficulty breathing after inhaling the vapor released by liquid nitrogen when added immediately before consumption. Injuries have occurred from handling or eating products prepared by adding liquid nitrogen immediately before consumption, even after the liquid nitrogen has fully evaporated due to the extremely low temperature of the food."The FDA's warning does not extend to all foods cooled by liquid nitrogen. "Other foods treated with liquid nitrogen prior to the point of sale and before consumption, for example some frozen confections, are treated in such a way that results in the complete evaporation of liquid nitrogen before reaching the consumer and are no longer at an extremely low temperature, and therefore do not pose a significant risk of injury," the FDA says. 1646

COLUMBUS, Indiana — A father found mold in a Capri Sun pouch last month that he was going to give his child. Cameron Hardwick, of Columbus, Indiana, posted a video of the discovery in the Capri Sun pouch on Sept. 24. He was going to give the Capri Sun to his 3-year-old child, and he found that one pouch was lighter and different than others.Hardwick cut the pouch open and poured it into a glass, where some kind of mold was visible. His post has more than 21 million views, and 88,000 shares on Facebook. "To say we are irate would be an understatement... we don't give these to our children often but will NEVER again!" Hardwick wrote. After the video was posted, he contacted Kraft and somebody picked up the pouch. Kraft recently contacted him to tell him it was mold, caused by a micropuncture.A search of "Capri Sun Mold" shows many other parents with similar issues of mold in Capri Sun pouches. On Capri Sun's website, the company has a Frequently Asked Questions section about mold. It says, in part: 1053

Comments by Mike Milbury, an NHL broadcaster for NBC Sports, were condemned by the NHL on Friday. The league called the remarks “insensitive and insulting.”Late in Thursday’s playoff game between the Islanders and Capitals, Milbury commented, “Not even any woman here to disrupt your concentration.”Milbury was referencing a bubble setup in Toronto for Eastern Conference teams that qualified for the postseason. Outside of players and coaches, only a handful of team and league officials are allowed inside the bubble. Families were among those excluded from the bubble, which is why some players, most notably Bruins goalie Tukka Rask, decided to opt not to remain in the bubble.A similar bubble was made in Edmonton for Western Conference playoff teams.Milbury was originally slated to be on the broadcast for Friday's playoff game between Montreal and Philadelphia. He is no longer listed as part of the broadcast team. The NHL issued the following statement on Friday:"The National Hockey League condemns the insensitive and insulting comment that Mike Milbury made during last night's broadcast and we have communicated our feelings to NBC. The comment did not reflect the NHL's values and commitment to making our game more inclusive and welcoming to all."Milbury played 12 seasons with the Boston Bruins following by coaching stints with the Bruins and Islanders. 1378

CVS and Walgreens are gearing up to give coronavirus vaccines - in long-term care facilities, not retail stores - once the FDA approves one for emergency use.According to CNN, CVS would administer the shots by mid-December, and Walgreens plans to start distributing within days of receiving them.In October, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced agreements with both companies to give vaccinations to long-term care facility residents nationwide with no out-of-pocket costs.According to the HHS, both companies will schedule and coordinate on-site clinic date(s) directly with each facility. The HHS said that residents and staff would likely need three total visits over two months to be given both vaccine doses."CVS Health has been on the frontlines of the fight against COVID-19, working across the health care spectrum in all the communities we serve, and that will continue to be the case when we have a vaccine to dispense," said Troy Brennan, Chief Medical Officer, CVS Health in a press release. On Tuesday, the CDC's Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices is having an emergency meeting, which will take place from 2-5 p.m. ET, to vote on who they recommend should be the first in the U.S. to get vaccinated once one is authorized. 1281

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Data released Monday show governors who led state responses to the coronavirus pandemic were among beneficiaries of the loan program created to help small businesses weather COVID-19's economic effects. The governors of at least seven states had ties to companies that received loans through the Small Business Administration's Paycheck Protection Program. 387
