POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies in Polk County, Florida are on the hunt for the man who allegedly pushed a woman out of a moving vehicle at over 75 miles per hour.Deputies say Remond Brown, 44, and his girlfriend got into an argument at dinner because she was on Facebook.According to deputies, the argument continued while the two were driving back to Pinellas Park. They say things turned physical, and that Brown slapped and punched the victim, with a closed fist, multiple times on the face.Witnesses in other vehicles advised that the suspect vehicle was driving erratically westbound on Highway 60 in Lake Wales. That's when deputies say Brown reached over and opened the victim's door and pushed her out of the car while traveling at highway speeds, approximately 75-80 mph, per the witness accounts.Two witnesses stopped to helped the victim."Other travelers on the road stopped to help the victim, but not Remond," the Polk County Sheriff's office said on Facebook. "He did stop, but only to look back at the victim and yell, 'Blank this blank', before getting back into the car, and driving off. And no, 'blank' was not the word he used."Deputies said the victim was clearly distraught and made multiple statements to the witnesses that "he was going to kill me, he is going to kill me, don't leave me he will kill me." Brown left the scene in the victim's Black 2017 Honda Accord. The vehicle has a Florida license plate with tag number 717TDH. Brown is approximately 5-foot-4-inches tall and weighs roughly 170 pounds.Deputies say that there is a history of physical violence and Brown has a history of run-ins with the law, ranging from charges of grand theft to murder.The Polk County Sheriff's Office has issued a warrant for his arrest with charges of 2nd Degree Attempted Murder, Battery (Domestic Violence), Violation of an Injunction, and Grand Theft Motor Vehicle pending.  1948

(KGTV) -- A rope is being blamed for December’s weeklong boil water advisory in Poway, according to a newly-released report.The report says a surge in storm water caused a backflow in the system. A rope stuck inside a gate designed to keep water out of the reservoir allowed the storm water to seep into the area. As a result of the incident, the affected section of the reservoir had to be disinfected and refilled. RELATED: Inspection found 12 flaws in Poway's water delivery systemA boil water was issued November 30 and canceled December 6 as a result of the contamination. The advisory was issued after residents reported brownish water coming from their faucets on November 29. The report also goes into detail about what is being done as a result of the advisory. President Donald Trump confirmed Monday that he will sign an emergency declaration for the state of Iowa following a derecho that blasted the state last week.At its peak, the storm packed winds of 112 MPH, and caused devastation in widespread areas.“I just approved an emergency declaration for Iowa, who had an incredible wind storm like probably they’ve never seen before. It really did a lot of damage,” Trump said. “So I’ve informed the governor; I’ve informed Senator Grassley and Senator Joni Ernst. So I’ve approved the declaration — emergency declaration for Iowa.”Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds said that 8,273 homes were destroyed or suffered major damage. Reynolds requested billion in federal assistance following the storms.“From cities to farms, Iowans are hurting, many still have challenges with shelter, food, and power. Resilience is in our DNA, but we’re going to need a strong and timely federal response to support recovery efforts,” said Gov. Reynolds. “I have formally requested an expedited Presidential Major Disaster Declaration to secure this critical federal assistance as quickly as possible. This past week I had conversations with President Trump and Vice President Pence, both have pledged the full support of the federal government.
