Dr. Anthony Fauci has a stark warning for Americans, reiterating that if our response to the coronavirus does not change, there could be more hospitalizations and deaths.“If things do not change, if they continue on the course we’re on, there’s gonna be a whole lot of pain in this country with regard to additional cases and hospitalizations, and deaths,” Fauci said in an interview Wednesday evening on “The News with Shepard Smith.”Dr. Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has repeatedly told lawmakers and other news outlets the country’s coronavirus case numbers are going in the “wrong direction.”Cases are rising in almost every state and territory, and coronavirus-positive patients are overwhelming hospitals in some parts of the country.The Midwest is especially hard hit right now, with Wisconsin reporting a 7-day positivity rate of 28 percent. Most municipalities try to keep that number below 5 percent to allow lockdown restrictions to loosen up.Smith asked Fauci if there should be a national mask mandate.“We do. (KGTV) — A woman and her 16-year-old daughter were rescued from a remote part of Otay Mountain Friday.U.S. Border Patrol said the woman and teenager were found after being lost without food and water in a mountainous area of southeast Otay Lakes Reservoir at about 12 p.m. Border Search Trauma and Rescue and San Diego Sheriff's Department responded to the rescue effort. Border agents had to hike to the mother and teen's location and begin life-saving treatment.RELATED: Several migrants rescued from flooded storm drain in San YsidroAgents said the pair were losing consciousness and incoherent when they were found.A helicopter was used to take the two to an ambulance, which brought them to a nearby hospital for treatment.The incident marked the 21st and 22nd rescues by border agents performed in 24 hours, after 20 people were rescued from a storm drain near San Ysidro on Thanksgiving Day. 922

A study looking at the increase of illegal immigrants over 24 years says no.There's a stigma linking violent crime with illegal immigrants and part of that has to do with the spotlight on MS-13 gang arrests across the country and specifically in Lake Worth. But, a state-by-state study says an increase in undocumented immigration actually makes communities safer.The study was conducted by sociologists Michael Light of the University of Wisconsin at Madison and Ty Miller of Purdue University.The FBI's Uniform Crime Report statistics show Florida's violent crime rate over time and statistics from the Pew Research Center show the increase in undocumented immigrants.The study looked at those statistics from 1990 to 2014. In those 25 years, Florida's undocumented immigration was at its lowest in 1990 and its violent crime rate for those years was at its highest. Fast forward to 2007, the undocumented immigration population peaked in the state, and the violent crime rate had dropped by 40 percent and continued to decrease. The study echoes what many immigration advocates argue. "We don’t see a large criminal underground in Lake Worth. (KGTV) - Extra security is in place at Valhalla High School in El Cajon Wednesday after a threat was found on an athletic field.Parents and students showed 10News an email sent by school officials, which indicated the concerning message was not a credible threat.The email to parents indicated that school officials began immediately investigating the threat.Classes are operating on a normal schedule Wednesday.  Deputies are on campus along with the school resource officer. 506
